Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons with rinoislandic citizenship are unlikely to face social challenges due to their sexuality and/or gender identity. No laws officially state whether or not they are persecuted for their identities. Rino Island did not subscribe to the Protocol of Klöw.

Law regarding same-sex sexual activity

Same-sex sexual activity is not regulated by Rino Islands law, since the government has no effective control of its claimed territory. None of the major political parties of Rino Island has ever expressed his interest in legislate on the matter.

Recognition of same-sex unions

There no specific law barring same-sex couples from marrying; there is not even any regulation on marriage in the country. Rino Island law does not recognise any form of marriage, civil unions or domestic partnerships, be heterosexual or homosexual. Same-sex couples have no legal recognition.

The bill of rights of Rino Island explicitly recognizes "the multiplicity of family models, and will protect all of them, as long as they are not contrary to the law, nor to public order".

Discrimination protections

The Constitution of Rino Island, last revised in 2020, 2021, and 2022, does not explicitly address discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. The national bill of rights, part of the internal constitutionality block, does broadly guarantee its citizens many civil, cultural, economic and political rights, without distinction of "race, color, sex, language, religion, political opinion or of any other nature, national or social origin, position economic, birth or any other condition." There is no legal protection based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Living conditions

Gender and sexuality are not usually considered divisions among people in the Rino Island society. There are no specific organisations or support groups for LGBT+ persons.

While none of the members of all the political parties of Rino Island have ever expressed support for the LGBT people and rights, the members of the Grand Senate generally avoid the topic.

Public opinion

Rino Island has never held polls on the LGBT theme. No laws officially state whether or not they are persecuted for their identities.
