HIH Emperor Mother Margaret is a member of the Imperial Family of Austenasia who is wife to the former Emperor Terry I and mother of the incumbent Emperor Jonathan I and Crown Princess Caroline. Currently 16th in line to the Throne, Emperor Mother Margaret was appointed one of the two Consuls for 2016 at the start of the year.
After marrying the future Emperor Terry I in 1989, she became his imperial consort when Austenasia declared independence almost exactly 19 years later; originally titled Princess Consort, the style of the wife of the Emperor was changed to Empress in May 2009. She was, while still Empress, appointed Vicereine of the Tincomarus Department of the Slinky Empyre in January 2010, but this position was abolished when the Department was re-annexed by the Empire of Austenasia the following year. She then held the status of a Lady Imperial until her son ascended the Throne in January 2013, upon which she became Emperor Mother. She was made a Privy Counsellor on 12 March 2014 upon the foundation of the Privy Council.
Due to changing laws regarding eligibility for the position, Margaret was eligible to serve as a Counsellor of State for various periods of time spanning 2009-2011. She was appointed as such (due to the War of the Orlian Reunification and the resultant instability of the joint reign of Esmond III and Declan I) from 10–19 December 2010 and again from 31 March to 18 August 2011. During the first of these appointments, she was one of the three Counsellors who jointly gave Imperial Consent to Acts 136-138.
Emperor Mother Margaret starred in Cool Barbie, the flagship sci-fi ATP series. She voiced Old Dog in Cool Barbie VIII - Plan of the Scourge (2014) and the Christmas minisode (2020), and appeared as Ato in the Xeaphon minisode (2015).

Note: From 20 September 2008 to 14 February 2009 a lack of legislation regarding the styles of members of the Imperial Family meant that titles and honours accumulated onto an imperial's style. As a result, during this period the now Emperor Mother's formal title grew extremely long, although she was still referred to in common usage simply as "Princess Consort Margaret" (until the title of an Emperor's wife was changed to Empress) during this time.
