  • First appearance: Cool Barbie V - Stepping towards the Sky (non-credited, 2010) / Cool Barbie VI - Revenge of the Uprisor (credited, 2011)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (2017)

Agent Holly is a Spectrum agent recruited alongside Corporal Barbie at the start of CB.V. He is given the jurisdiction of north-east Carshalton, and his voice is heard at the end of CB.VI, when he flies the attack helicopter which forces Colin to release Corporal Barbie. He is also seen in the first of the 2015 minisodes, attending Moonita's coronation. His final and most substantial appearance is in CB.XIII, when he is called in by Xeaphon to help Corporal Barbie track down a creature that has infiltrated the Land. After discovering that most of the Doll Senate has been murdered, he is tasked with getting King Yellow Bear to safety, which he does so successfully despite being killed by the Spider.

Astronauts

  • First appearance: Cool Barbie V - Stepping towards the Sky (2010)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie VIII - Plan of the Scourge (2014)

The Astronauts accompany Corporal Barbie and Sergeant Grey to the Moon during the events of CB.V, and stay with the rocket while the others explore the Uranian Moonbase, not teleporting back down to Earth with the others. They are next seen in CB.VIII, alerting Earth of the approaching Uranian Fleet from the now Earth-controlled Moonbase and evacuating as the Fleet attacks.

Barbie Countess/Doctor

  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XII - A Last Chance (credited, 2017) / Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (non-credited, 2017)

This Barbie first appears as a member of the Senate in CB.IV, where she mutters disbelief at a claim by Colin that his government does not practice discrimination, but later finds herself blackmailed into supporting his motion to appoint the Troll Leader as the new Minister of Defence. In this appearance, she is credited as a Barbie Countess; in her second appearance, appearing in CB.VI as the Doctor who attempted to treat the late Queen Lucy, no mention of nobility is made, although her clothes and accent are identical and she is intended to be the same character. She next appears in the Moonita minisode, first accompanying Emily II when the latter is killed by the Troll Leader, and later attending the coronation of Queen Moonita. The Barbie Countess next appears in CB.XII, attending a Senate meeting in which she asks if the Thunder Stone can be used to reimprison Kronos. She, along with other members of the Senate, is assassinated by the Spider in CB.XIII, but has no speaking role in this episode and is uncredited for her final appearance.

Captain of the Golden Arrows

The Captain of the Golden Arrows on the Scourge home planet in the Colin minisode
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Colin minisode (2015)

The Captain of the Golden Arrows is a Power Ranger action figure who is the leader of the Golden Arrows and a close follower of Colin. He supported Colin's uprising in CB.IV, appearing on television to give the order to the Land to surrender to Colin's forces. He was exiled to the Garden when the uprising failed, and is seen at the start of CB.VI helping to defend Colin from exiles who had been previously banished to the Garden when Colin was Regent. He is not present when Colin, Troll 2 and the Golden Arrow teleport away at the end of CB.VI, but is seen with Troll 2 and Wisealise celebrating the summoning of the Uranian fleet at the end of CB.VII. He accompanies Colin and his other followers during the events of CB.VIII and the third of the 2015 minisodes, teleporting with them to the Scourge home planet, where he is assumed killed.

Captain of the People's Army

The Captain of the People's Army in CB.VIII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie VIII - Plan of the Scourge (2014)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (2017)

The Captain of the People's Army (renamed from the First Army after CB.IV) is a toy soldier who is the leader of the People's Army. He first appears in CB.VIII, where he is ordered by Moonita to arrange the protection of the Land from the Uranian invasion. In CB.XI, he oversees the military response to the Scourge incursion before accompanying King Yellow Bear throughout the events of the film. He is assassinated by the Spider in CB.XIII.

Captain of the Royal/Third Army

The Captain of the Royal Army in CB.VIII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (2017)

The Captain of the Royal Army (renamed from the Third Army after CB.IV) is a toy soldier who is the leader of the Royal Army. He first appears in CB.IV, where he and the then-Third Army are locked outside in the Garden by the Troll Leader to stop them preventing Colin's uprising. He is later let back into the house when the First Army defect back to Xeaphon and unlock the doors, and he oversees the exiling of Colin and his followers. He is briefly seen attending the unveiling of the superweapon in CB.VII, and is also featured in CB.VIII, being ordered by Moonita to protect Queen Emily II and the Senate. However, as shown in the Moonita minisode, he and his soldiers ultimately fail to save Emily II from being killed by the Troll Leader. He later attends the coronation of Moonita as the new monarch of the toys. In CB.XI, he orders the Royal Guard to defend King Yellow Bear before accompanying him throughout the events of the film. He is assassinated by the Spider in CB.XIII.

King/Chancellor Yellow Bear

The Chancellor in the Doll Senate in CB.III
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie II - Return of the Champion (2009)
  • Last appearance: Christmas minisode (2020)

King Yellow Bear - known as the Chancellor before CB.XI - is a teddy bear loyal to Xeaphon who since CB.XI has served as monarch of the toys, having previously been Chancellor of the government and a member of the Doll Senate. Seen to be a political opponent of Colin in CB.III, Colin attempts to have him killed in CB.IV but fails, with the Chancellor demonstrating impressive fighting skills by killing three elite soldiers, after which he calls together an Emergency Senate and leads the effort to resist Colin's coup. He also appears in CB.VI helping Cool Barbie to find out who killed Queen Lucy, and in CB.VII he attends the unveiling of the reverse-engineered Dalek. In the Moonita minisode, he is shown to have been with Queen Emily II when she was killed by the Troll Leader, whom he then charges at in anger before the latter teleports away; the Chancellor is later present at Moonita's coronation as Emily's successor, and accompanies her on a tour of the kingdom in CB.IX. Upon the hospitalization of Moonita between CB.X and CB.XI, the Chancellor is appointed the new monarch of the toys by Xeaphon as King Yellow Bear, and in CB.XI and CB.XII has to deal with the Land coming under attack from a Scourge and from Kronos respectively. In CB.XIII, he manages to get to safety in a public shelter after the rest of the Doll Senate is assassinated by the Spider, and warns Xeaphon from inside the shelter at the start of CB.XIV. After Dominus takes over the world, King Yellow Bear goes into hiding: in CB.XV, he is seen on the run with a group of other toys which meet with Cool Barbie, but in the Christmas minisode he emerges and announces the death of Dominus, confronting the followers of the latter.

Colin

Promotional image of Colin
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie II - Return of the Champion (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIV - The Invasion of the Eagle (2017)

Colin is a power-hungry, scheming member of Doll royalty. Having arranged to have his mother Queen Emily kidnapped and his step-father King Ken II disabled, he steadily gains power in the Land until by CB.IV he is able to launch a military revolution. Although he temporarily installs a military dictatorship over the land and proclaims himself Emperor Colin, he is defeated by Xeaphon, Moonita, and the defection of the First Army, and exiled into the Garden along with a few loyal followers. He successfully arranges for his successor Queen Lucy to be assassinated in CB.VI, but fails in his overall goal to have Corporal Barbie also killed. It transpires in CB.VIII that while in exile he had arranged for Uranus to invade Earth, which gives Colin a chance to briefly take power again under Wisealise. After Wisealise's death, Colin and his followers teleport away, and in the Colin minisode they teleport to the Scourge home-planet after months on the run only to come under attack; in CB.IX, the Golden Arrow states his belief that Colin was killed. However, it is revealed in CB.XI that Colin had been captured by the Scourge, and is tricked by them into attempting to set off a planet-destroying explosion by modifying Xeaphon's laser cannon with Scourge technology. When he is made aware that he will inadvertently destroy himself, he teleports back to the Scourge, who pledge to provide him with a means to actually conquer Earth. He then returns in CB.XII and uses Scourge technology to free Kronos, who grants him magical power. However, he is defeated by Xeaphon - though not before also draining the power of the Thunder Stone - and imprisoned in the Cryogenic Research Prison along with his remaining followers. In CB.XIV, Colin is freed from the Cryogenic Research Prison; after draining the Eagle's power, he locates the tomb of the Hill Prince and drains his as well, before finally freeing and defeating Kronos. Instead of simply draining Kronos' power, however, Colin possesses his body, and gives himself the new name of Dominus.

Corporal (Cool) Barbie

Corporal Barbie in her original body (left, CB.VII) and in Moonita's (right, CB.VIII)
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie I - Fallen from the Sky (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XV - The Final Battle (2018)

Cool Barbie (known as Corporal Barbie from CB.V-CB.XIV) is the eponymous main character of the series.

The first three episodes deal with her interactions with Bubbles. After helping to thwart Colin's uprising in CB.IV, she joins Spectrum in CB.V and is thereafter known as Corporal Barbie. At the end of CB.VIII, Corporal Barbie switches bodies with Moonita after the two of them interfere with a powerful magical weapon to successfully thwart Wisealise's plans, and comes to hold a position with Xeaphon at NETDOF. During her time at NETDOF, Corporal Barbie is teleported to the Elven Emperor during CB.X to ask his help in defending the planet from the Scourge. In-between CB.X and CB.XI, Corporal Barbie and Moonita are switched back, with the Corporal returning to her role as a Spectrum agent. She retains some sort of psychic connection with the Elven Emperor, receiving a telepathic message from him during CB.XI after he prevents the annihilation of the planet by a sabotaged laser cannon, and receiving dreams and visions from him during CB.XII. In CB.XIII, she attempts to track down the Spider after it infiltrates the house, but fails to prevent it killing most of the Land's political and military leaders; in CB.XIV she is trapped along with Xeaphon while the Spider's master, the Eagle, invades the house, an event which ultimately leads to the conquest of Earth by Dominus. By CB.XV she has left Spectrum after its takeover by Dominus, becoming known once more as Cool Barbie, and spends that episode helping Xeaphon to collect the magical crystals needed to defeat Dominus. At the conclusion of CB.XV, Xeaphon is overpowered by Dominus and it is only through the help of Cool Barbie - who pushes the Wind and Blood Stones up against the Staff of High Elves to combine their power - that Dominus is finally defeated.

Despite ostensibly being the main character, remarkably little is revealed of Corporal Barbie's background.

Eagle

The Eagle in CB.XIV
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (2017)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIV - The Invasion of the Eagle (2017)

The Eagle is a former servant of Wisealise who possesses parasitical magic, who drains the magic and lifeforce from other toys. He first appears briefly at the end of CB.XIII, leading an army of toy animals which is ready to invade the Land now that most of its leaders have been killed by the Spider. The Eagle primarily features in CB.XIV; he traps Xeaphon and Corporal Barbie before invading the Land, freeing Colin and attempting to drain his power before being overpowered and having his own power drained instead. He is then imprisoned in the freezer in Colin's place.

King Ken II

King Ken II in hospital in CB.IV
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie III - Prisoners Freed (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)

King Ken II was the monarch of the toys between February 2007 and June 2009, having previously ruled in only a limited capacity alongside his consort the queen regnant Emily I. With the abduction of Queen Emily in 2007 (CB.IV introduction), he became sole monarch, but by August 2008 (CB.III) he had been so disabled by numerous assassination attempts that Colin (secretly his would-be assassin) had been made Regent, although Ken retained some powers. Although this is not stated on-screen, his ordinal of II was assumed to distinguish him from Ken the Elder.

King Ken II first appears in CB.III, giving his permission to the Chancellor to mobilise First Army troops to stop Bubbles - he is shown to be at least partially aware, but tragically dismissive, of Colin's ambitions. In CB.IV, he is killed by the Captain of the First Army on Colin's orders, after lamenting that his constitutional monarchy will be replaced by Colin with a militaristic absolute monarchy. A picture of King Ken II in royal robes is seen in a classroom in CB.IX.

Minister of Defence (Hippo)

The Minister of Defence in CB.XII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IX - Last of the Mysterons (2015)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (2017)

The Minister of Defence who succeeded the Troll Leader, Hippo (as he is originally credited), first appears in CB.IX, instructed by Xeaphon to man the Land's laser cannon when an incoming extraterrestrial object is detected. He is next seen at the end of CB.XI, inspecting the laser cannon and expressing bemusement at why it failed to explode, being unaware of the Elven Emperor's telekinetic intervention. He appears in CB.XII - the first time he is explicitly credited as the Minister of Defence - attending a Senate meeting where he enquires as to Xeaphon's whereabouts. His final appearance is in CB.XIII, when he is assassinated by the Spider while attempting to organise a military response to the intruder.

The same hippo toy also appeared in the original Cool Barbie 2 (2006), as a member of toy government holding the office "Minister for Food". After the rest of the government is killed by Bubbles, Hippo organises an army to fight him, only explaining his ability to do so with the statement "tinned sardines are the secret -" before the scene cuts. He appears later on in the episode in the midst of the final battle, exclaiming "Stop! I know a way to stop this war!" before being shot dead by Bubbles.

Newsreader

The Newsreader reporting in CB.VII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie I - Fallen from the Sky (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XI - Infiltration (2016)

The Newsreader is a Playmobile figure who first appears in CB.I, broadcasting on the landing of Bubbles and his subsequent conflict with the human military. He later features in CB.IV, first broadcasting in hiding as a loyalist to Xeaphon after Colin's troops take over the Land, and then after the coup has been suppressed reporting on the exile of Colin and the honoring of those who contributed to his defeat. He also appears in CB.VII, reporting on the unveiling of the Dalek as a new superweapon for the Land, and at the start of CB.XI, updating the audience on recent events.

The Newsreader functions as a narrative character, able to explain context or off-screen events so as to negate the need for exposition to be given in other ways. The name of his news channel has changed between appearances: it is "Channel 402 News" in CB.I, "Channel 403 News" in the middle of CB.IV, "Channel 407 News" at the end of said episode, and "Channel 409 News" in CB.XI.

Queen Emily II

Emily II in CB.VII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Moonita minisode (2015)

Queen Emily II is a Barbie who succeeds Lucy as the monarch of the toys. She first appears in CB.IV as a Barbie Countess in the Senate, where she advises her fellow Barbies to vote for Colin's motion after he threatens them. Her first appearance as monarch is in CB.VII, where she unveils the superweapon as the Dalek and escapes from the resultant riot. She calls Colin her step-brother and not her half-brother, revealing that she was a daughter of Ken II from before he married Emily I and that Ken II was not Colin's father. Her death is shown in the introduction to the Moonita minisode; she is killed by the Troll Leader during Wisealise's attack on the Land after she refuses to surrender to Colin.

Sergeant Grey

Sergeant Grey warns the Land about Bubbles in CB.III
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie II - Return of the Champion (non-credited, 2009) / Cool Barbie III - Prisoners Freed (credited, 2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XV - The Final Battle (2018)

Sergeant Grey is an Action Man who is a member of Spectrum International Police, and Corporal Barbie's immediate commanding officer as Spectrum Agent for North East Sutton. Courageous and assertive, he is good friends with Corporal Barbie. He helps fight Bubbles in CB.III (after being seen helping to man a barricade against him in CB.II credited simply as "Soldier 1"), and in CB.IV aids Cool Barbie and the Chancellor in attempting to thwart Colin's uprising. He accompanies Corporal Barbie to the Moon in CB.V, and calls her to the scene of Queen Lucy's assassination in CB.VI. After four years off-screen, Sergeant Grey appears in the Colin minisode, where he leads a group of Spectrum agents tracking down Colin and his followers. He appears again in CB.XI, intending to take Corporal Barbie to a medical check-up after her body-swap experience but ending up having to help deal with an attack on the Land by Colin and the Scourge. Sergeant Grey's final appearance is in CB.XV, where he gives Cool Barbie information to help her find one of the magical stones required to defeat Dominus.

Spider

The Spider in CB.XIII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie XIII - The Assassin (2017)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIV - The Invasion of the Eagle (2017)

The Spider is the eponymous assassin of CB.XIII, who murders most of the Land's government and military officials on behalf of the Eagle to soften up the Land's defences for invasion. He also features in CB.XIV, accompanying the Eagle and transferring his allegiance to Colin when the latter defeats the former. He is threatened with death at the end of the episode by Dominus after mistaking Colin's possession of Kronos for Kronos defeating Colin and accidentally hailing the wrong victor, but the threat is not carried out on-screen.

The toy used for the Spider's scenes is the same toy spider which Captain Scarlet transformed into at the end of CB.II, but the two are not the same character.

Troll Leader

The Troll Leader in CB.VIII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIV - The Invasion of the Eagle (2017)

The Troll Leader is the leader and the largest of three troll followers of Colin that he introduce into the Doll Senate at the start of CB.IV to help him seize power. He wears wizard's robes and carries a wand, and like the other trolls can use magic; in CB.VIII, his hair is revealed to be a wig (after being shot off by a soldier), and he appears without it in his subsequent appearances.

In CB.IV, Colin blackmails the Doll Senate into making the Troll Leader the new Minister of Defence. In his new position, the Troll Leader orders the Third Army on a pointless mission in the Garden to make it safe for Colin to begin his uprising, after which he orders the First Army and Golden Arrows to secure the house. When Colin's coup is defeated, the Troll Leader is exiled along with Colin's other supporters into the Garden. He is seen at the start of CB.VI in the Garden using his magical powers to defend Colin against other exiles whom he had previously banished when in power. He accompanies Colin during the events of CB.VIII, unsuccessfully attempting to order his former troops to free Bubbles (instead done by Wisealise), and is shown in the first of the 2015 minisodes to have then successfully killed Emily II, teleporting away when confronted by the Chancellor. In the Colin minisode, the Troll Leader briefly meets up with Colin and his other followers while they are on the run, and is given a mission to perform as part of a "back-up plan". He next appears in CB.XIV, where it is revealed that he had been sent to find the Eagle's army, and later sent a vision from Colin from inside the Cryogenic Research Prison instructing him to come and free him.

Troll 1

Trolls 1 (right) and 2 (left) in CB.IV
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Christmas minisode (2020)

Troll 1 was introduced along with two other troll dolls into the Doll Senate by Colin at the start of CB.IV to help him seize power. Troll 1 has orange hair, and like the other trolls can use magic. He helps Colin during the Uprising, confining the Protectors of the Realm and attacking the Chancellor, but teleports away to an unknown location once it is clear that the uprising was about to be quashed. Although Colin is initially angry with him for escaping like this, it is revealed in CB.VIII that Troll 1 had teleported to Uranus to plan the events of that episode (the scene at the end of CB.IV is intended to be the Troll arriving back on Earth along with a Uranian). He accompanies Colin during the events of CB.VIII, and later teleports with him and his other followers to the Scourge home planet in the Colin minisode. The Troll is captured by the Scourge along with Colin and the Golden Arrow (headband), and in CB.XI accompanies them as they try to conquer the world by using a modified laser cannon, teleporting them away when it is revealed that the Scourge have sabotaged it so it will destroy the planet upon being used. They return to the Land in CB.XII to free Kronos, but are imprisoned in the Cryogenic Research Prison when defeated by Xeaphon. The Eagle and Troll Leader free the freezer's occupants in CB.XIV, and the Troll accompanies Colin for the remainder of the episode. By the Christmas minisode, he is in command of a group of toy animals who, with an Action Man, are hunting down King Yellow Bear; upon being informed of the death of Dominus, they teleport away.

Troll 2

  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Colin minisode (2015)

Troll 2 was introduced along with two other troll dolls into the Doll Senate by Colin at the start of CB.IV to help him seize power. Troll 2 had yellow hair, and like the other trolls could use magic. After helping Colin during the Uprising - by confining the Protectors of the Realm and summoning the second giant - he is exiled to the Garden along with Colin and his other followers when it is quashed. In CB.VI, he infiltrates the Land and assassinates Queen Lucy on Colin's orders to lure Corporal Barbie into the Garden, but fails to kill Corporal Barbie before she escapes, teleporting with Colin and the Golden Arrow to an unknown location at the end of CB.VI when they are confronted by a Spectrum helicopter. Troll 2 is later seen with the Captain of the Golden Arrows and Wisealise celebrating the summoning of the Uranian fleet at the end of CB.VII. He accompanies Colin during the events of CB.VIII, and later casts the spell which teleports Colin and his followers to the Scourge home planet in the Colin minisode, where he is killed on-screen.

Minor characters

  • Agent Beech is a Spectrum agent, recruited alongside Corporal Barbie at the start of CB.V and given the jurisdiction of north-west Carshalton.
  • Agent Cedar is a Spectrum agent, recruited alongside Corporal Barbie at the start of CB.V and given the jurisdiction of south-west Carshalton.
  • Agent Maple is a Spectrum agent, recruited alongside Corporal Barbie at the start of CB.V and given the jurisdiction of south-east Carshalton.
  • The Captain of the First Army was a toy soldier who was the leader of the First Army during the events of CB.IV. Loyal to Colin, he led a small group of elite soldiers to assassinate King Ken II and the Chancellor at the outbreak of Colin's uprising, but after personally killing the King, he himself was killed by the Chancellor, with his elite soldiers also being killed by the Chancellor and by Sergeant Grey.
  • Beany Dolly is a student at the toy school in CB.IX, who correctly answers a question on the history of the Land before Moonita arrives to inspect the school; she is also seen attending Queen Moonita's coronation, and is part of the Doll Senate when its members are killed by the Spider in CB.XIII. The same toy was also a member of the Doll Senate in the original Cool Barbie 2, but had no lines or credited appearance.
  • Captain Scarlet (an appropriation of the eponymous hero of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons) is one of the main protagonists of CB. II. The Spectrum Agent for Greater London, he arrives in the Land to warn the toys of Bubble's return, and helps them to confront him. Mortally injured by Bubbles, he uses his "retro-metabolistic energy" to transform into a large spider, which knocks out Bubbles before dying. He is the first member of Spectrum introduced in the series.
  • General White is the leader of Spectrum. Voiced by HIH Emperor Father Terry, he informs all Spectrum agents of the Uranian invasion of Earth at the start of CB.VIII. He is not seen on-screen, with his voice instead heard over a radio.
  • The Golden Arrow (headband) is an Action Man who is a member of the Golden Arrows and a close follower of Colin; his real name is not known. He took part in the Uprising and was exiled into the Garden in CB.IV, and helped with Colin's ultimately unsuccessful plot to kill Corporal Barbie before teleporting away with Colin and Troll 2 in CB.VI. He accompanies Colin during the events of CB.VIII and the third of the 2015 minisodes. Captured along with Colin and Troll 2 while on the Scourge home planet, he accompanies them both during the events of CB.XI and CB.XII, being imprisoned with them in the Cryogenic Research Prison at the end of the latter and later freed along with them in CB.XIV.
  • The Golden Arrow (leather jacket) features prominently in CB.IX. One of the Action Man followers of Colin, he accompanies him to the Scourge home-world in the third of the 2015 minisodes, and eventually escapes to Earth to warn Xeaphon that the Scourge are planning an invasion. He is killed by the Mysteron after refusing to de-activate his gun, onto which he had fused Scourge technology.
  • The Hill Prince was "a great magic warrior whose armies took over most of London in the nineties", defeated by Ken the Elder and eventually buried in the Land's garden. His corpse's remaining power is drained by Colin in CB.XIV as the latter accumulates magical strength.
  • The King of Crepundia is a doll featured in CB.VII. He protests against the government raising taxes to pay for new weapons to defend the Land against Colin, as he believes that no such attack is imminent and that said weapons will be used merely to oppress the populace. He leads a riot when the "superweapon" is unveiled and revealed to be the Dalek, which results in his followers leaving the Land and founding their own, Crepundia, of which he is crowned King by Xeaphon.
  • Lieutenant Green is the Spectrum Agent for South London. Voiced by Lord Timothy, he is featured (although not seen) in CB.IV, flying an attack helicopter which unsucessfully attempts to subdue Colin's uprising.
  • Major Brown is the Spectrum Agent for England. He appears in CB.V manning a Spectrum base temporarily in the Land, from which he gives Corporal Barbie and Sergeant Grey their mission to the Moon.
  • Major Orange is the predecessor of Major Brown. He does not appear in any episodes, but Sergeant Grey sends a message to him in CB.IV, and in CB.V the Supreme Allied Commander accidentally uses his name to address Major Brown.
  • The original Minister of Defence (not to be confused with the Troll Leader or Hippo, both later given the job by Colin and King Yellow Bear respectively) was a teddy bear who appeared in CB.II and CB.III as the overall leader of the Land's military, helping to organise the Land's response to Bubbles' attacks. He has been killed in a car crash by CB.IV, in which Colin admits to his followers that it was a deliberate assassination on his behalf.
  • The Old Dog first appears in CB.VIII, where she is part of a group of old toys that refuse to submit to Wisealise, first saving Corporal Barbie from the Trolls and later confronting Colin and his followers. She appears again in the Christmas minisode, as part of the group of teddies from whom the followers of Dominus demand to know the location of King Yellow Bear. She is voiced by Emperor Mother Margaret.
  • Queen Emily I was the monarch of the toys before February 2007, when she was abducted by a Giant on her son Colin's orders (CB.IV) so that he could gain power. It is not specified whether she ruled alongside King Ken II, or whether he was merely her consort, but upon her abduction he became sole monarch.
  • Queen Lucy is not seen on-screen, but is mentioned in CB.IV, VI, and VIII. The successor of her step-father King Ken II as monarch of the toys after Colin's uprising in CB.IV, her assassination at the start of CB.VI by Troll 2 forms the main plotline for that episode. She is described as the "estranged" sister of Colin, presumably having been banished or imprisoned by him before she became Queen to remove any threat to his claims to power. She is succeeded as monarch by her step-sister Emily II.
  • The Scientist was a Playmobile figure employed at the Cryogenic Research Prison. At the end of CB.II, he is ordered by Colin to reverse-engineer weaponry from Bubbles' natural defence mechanisms. However, when he begins experimenting ("Project Tesla") on Bubbles at the start of CB.III, Bubbles escapes, killing the Scientist and two guards.
  • Sophie is a Barbie who is a friend of Cool Barbie, and accompanies her to what is intended to be a holiday in CB.III before being attacked by Bubbles and the Dalek. Despite being referred to as Cool Barbie's "best friend", CB.III is the only episode in which Sophie is seen or even mentioned.
  • The Teacher is a doll who teaches a class of toys in CB.IX, during which his school is visited by Moonita.

Humans

Commander Xeaphon XVIII

Xeaphon in his NETDOF office in the Xeaphon minisode
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XV - The Final Battle (2018)

Xeaphon XVIII is the main protector of the toys of the Land. Played by HIM Emperor Jonathan I, he first appears in CB.IV, playing a minor role in the introduction when helping to repel a burglar, and later fighting off Colin's second hired "giant" after being locked out of and subsequently let back into the house by the shifting loyalties of the First Army. Xeaphon holds the rank of Commander in NETDOF, and was previously an officer of the organisation's predecessor ET Defensive Force. In both CB.IV and CB.VI, it is established that he appoints the monarch of the toys - at the end of CB.VII, he helps Queen Emily II and the anti-war protesters reach an agreement by founding the new land of Crepundia, and in the first of the 2015 minisodes he crowns Moonita the new queen of the Land. Xeaphon features prominently in CB.VIII, organising the defence of the Land against the Uranians and Wisealise, and in the second of the 2015 minisodes he obtains the Staff of Forest Elves to help him guard the Titans' prisons. He now works at NETDOF, and helps organise the defence of Earth against the Scourge during CB.X. As explained in CB.XI, he uses the Staff of Forest Elves offscreen in an attempt to switch back Moonita and Corporal Barbie into their original bodies; however, although the process is successful for Corporal Barbie, Moonita enters into a coma, and eventually dies off-screen during CB.XII. Despite this personal loss, Xeaphon goes back to the Land and defeats Kronos and Colin. After unsuccessfully attempting to protect the Land's officials from an assassin in CB.XIII, his next appearance is in CB.XIV, where he and Corporal Barbie are trapped by the Eagle as the latter invades the Land. He escapes off-screen, and in the introduction to CB.XV helps the Elven Emperor to unsuccessfully fight Dominus, the Staff of Forest Elves being broken in the fight. In the main portion of the episode, set one year later, Xeaphon is aided by Cool Barbie in collecting magical crystals similar to the Thunder Stone with the power of which they eventually are able to destroy Dominus.

Ken the Elder

Ken confronts Wisealise in CB.VIII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie VIII - Plan of the Scourge (2014)

Ken the Elder is the father of Xeaphon and Moonita, and husband of Ato. Played by HIH Emperor Father Terry, Ken appears in both CB.IV and CB.VIII, both times helping to defend the Land (from a burglar sent by Colin to abduct Queen Emily I in the former, and from the Uranians and Wisealise in the latter). He is also referenced in CB.XIV, in which Colin recalls that it was Ken who was able to defeat the Hill Prince in the 1990s.

Although not stated on-screen, his epithet of "the Elder" was given to him by the toys to distinguish him from the Barbie King Ken, who assumed the ordinal of II for the same reason.

Moonita

Moonita in her original body (left, CB.VIII) and in Corporal Barbie's (right, Moonita minisode)
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie IV - The Uprising (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie IX - Last of the Mysterons (2015)

Moonita is Xeaphon's sister, and governs the toys of the Land along with him. Played by HIH Crown Princess Caroline, she first appears at the end of CB.IV, helping Xeaphon to drive off Colin's "giant" and suppress the uprising. She also appears at the start of CB.VII, asking Corporal Barbie to supervise the unveiling of the land's new "superweapon" (the reverse-engineered Dalek), and most prominently features in CB.VIII, helping Xeaphon defend the Land against the Uranians and Wisealise, and at the end of which she switches bodies with Corporal Barbie after the two of them interfere with a powerful magical weapon to successfully thwart Wisealise's plans. In the first of the 2015 minisodes, Moonita in her new Barbie body is crowned the new Queen of the toys by Xeaphon, and is temporarily abducted by a Golden Arrow in CB.IX. At the start of CB.XI, the Newsreader reports that Moonita has switched bodies back with Corporal Barbie, but is now unconscious in hospital; she later dies off-screen in CB.XII.

Supreme Allied Commander

The Supreme Allied Commander contacts Major Brown in CB.V
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie I - Fallen from the Sky (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie V - Stepping towards the Sky (in person, 2010) / Cool Barbie IX - Last of the Mysterons (voice only, 2015)

The Supreme Allied Commander is the leader of NETDOF, and previously of NATO's "ET Defensive Force". Played by Lord Timothy, he first appears in CB.I, giving the order to shoot down Bubble's spaceship, and in CB.V requesting that Major Brown send agents to the Moon to investigate the Uranian base. His voice is heard over the phone in the Xeaphon minisode, informing Xeaphon that Wisealise's "Staff of Forest Elves" was a fake and that he will soon be given the genuine staff, and again in CB.IX, where he informs Xeaphon of the approaching Mysteron. Although he speaks with an English accent in his first appearance, subsequently he has spoken with a heavy American accent.

Minor characters

  • Ato is the mother of Xeaphon and Moonita, and wife of Ken the Elder. She is first mentioned in CB.VIII, when Xeaphon (having heard news of the Uranian invasion) asks Ken to phone her and make sure she is safe at her workplace. She first appears - although only her hand is seen - in the Xeaphon minisode, played by HIH Emperor Mother Margaret, in which it is revealed that she works as Xeaphon's secretary at NETDOF.
  • The "Chav burglar" ("Giant") was a masked human hired by one of Colin's trolls to assist in securing the Land at the end of CB.IV. Played by Jonathan I, he is driven off by Xeaphon and Moonita after attacking a Spectrum helicopter and attempting to kill Cool Barbie. He is referred to as a "giant", but due to his appearance (hooded top, covered face, tracksuit bottoms) is credited as the "Chav burglar" to differentiate him from the other burglar seen earlier in the episode.
  • The Disciple of Kronos appears in CB.XV as the owner of the Blood Stone who is also on the run from the secret police of Dominus. Xeaphon confronts the Disciple and convinces him to hand over the Stone, which the former then uses against the police who surround the house so that they can both escape. The Disciple is played by a housemate of Jonathan I and Princess Hannah who shared university accommodation with them in Chester.
  • The "Giant" (Burglar) seen at the beginning of CB.IV is hired by Colin to abduct his mother Queen Emily I, so that he can be declared Regent after disabling King Ken II. Despite being repelled by Ken the Elder and Xeaphon, the burglar (played by Sir Glen Allen) escapes with the Queen. He is called a "giant" by the Queen's guard, due to unfamiliar humans being assumed by many toys to be hostile.
  • Heroura is only mentioned once and is not seen on-screen. She is briefly referenced by Xeaphon towards the end of CB.XV as somebody who Cool Barbie could seek refuge with should their attempt to defeat Dominus fail; no other information is given about her. This line was included at the request of Princess Hannah, who had created Heroura in various world-building exercises with Jonathan I as a character to represent herself in much the same way as Jonathan I is represented by Xeaphon within the Cool Barbie universe.
  • The human newsreader, played by a friend of the Imperial Family who was uncredited at his own request, reports on the Uranian invasion of Earth at the start of CB.VIII. Part of his news report is also shown at the start of the Moonita minisode, in a "previously" section.
  • The NATO Worker is an employee of the Supreme Allied Commander. Played by Sir Joseph Francis, he appears in CB.I informing the Supreme Allied Commander of the movements of Bubble's spaceship.
  • The police officer is the leader of a platoon of Dominus' secret police, who surrounds the house in which Xeaphon and the Disciple of Kronos are. He demands that they surrender to Dominus, but is killed by Xeaphon with the power of the Blood Stone. The police officer is not seen on-screen, but his voice is heard through a loudspeaker from outside. His lines were recorded by Lord John Gordon, Viscount of Thetford in September 2018 during a trip to Wrythe as part of Austenasia's tenth anniversary celebrations.
  • The President of the UN Security Council, played by D. Forty, addresses the Uranian General via radio in CB.VIII, refusing to surrender the planet to Uranus. Although credited simply as "Security Council President", Mr. Forty's performance was intended to imitate Sir Mark Lyall Grant, a British diplomat who served as President of the United Nations Security Council during August 2014, CB.VIII being published on 1 September of that year.
  • Lord Xeaphon VII is an ancestor of Xeaphon, the builder and namesake of the Land, and the mage who originally defeated and imprisoned the Titans. In the introductory scene of CB.XII, he is seen in 1291 writing a letter having just defeated the Dalek, stressing that the Titans must never be allowed to escape their prisons.

Aliens, Elves and Titans

Bubbles

Bubbles summons the Dalek in CB.III
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie I - Fallen from the Sky (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie X - War in the Sky (2016)

Bubbles is a Uranian who serves as the primary antagonist in the first three episodes, abducting Cool Barbie and then attempting to get revenge for the destruction of his ship by Earth. He was imprisoned in the Cryogenic Research Prison at the end of CB.II, briefly escaping during CB.III, during which it was demonstrated that it was being locked away rather than the low temperature of the prison which restrained him. Bubbles was freed during CB.VIII and returned to Uranus, briefly returning to Earth during CB.X to ask NETDOF for help during the Scourge invasion of the Solar System.

Bubbles' title Champion of Uranus indicates that he is a military leader of some kind, and although he is seen to be under the command of the Uranian General in CB.VIII, his status is clearly shown by the fact that the invasion in said episode was launched solely to retrieve him. Although physically smaller than most toys, he is shown to be extremely powerful, and survives being attacked by a bullmastiff and being shot by a Dalek's death ray within the space of several seconds in CB.III. His abilities include flight, telekinesis, and being able to shoot blasts of energy from his head as a weapon; the Uranian in CB.V demonstrates that other Uranians possess at least the latter two, although not at the same strength.

Dalek

The Dalek attacks the Land in CB.III
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie III - Prisoners Freed (2009)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie VIII - Plan of the Scourge (2014)

The Dalek (appropriated from the Doctor Who antagonist of the same name) is an alien that was imprisoned under the Garden by Xeaphon VII in 1291 (learnt from a flashback at the start of CB.XII), and freed by Bubbles in CB.III to help him get revenge on Earth. It shows signs of battle damage when it first appears (most notably, its eye-stalk is missing). It is learnt from CB.III and CB.IV that there had been a toy fortress defending the entrance to the Dalek's prison, but this was destroyed by Colin, who planned to free the Dalek to help him seize power. The Dalek was killed at the end of CB.III by Edd, with its body salvaged by the government. In CB.VII, Queen Emily II unveils the Dalek as a "superweapon" to defend the land, explaining that the Dalek has been reverse-engineered and the organism inside replaced with a device remotely controlled by her - by now, the Dalek is seen to be a lot more damaged than previously due to its battle with Edd and the work of the toy engineers, as it has numerous cracks and scratches, is missing its plunger, and has a large amount of tape holding parts of it together. It is seen that the Dalek can also be used as a form of tank after having been reverse-engineered, as a soldier from the Royal Army uses it to fire on rioters. The Dalek is seen in CB.VIII guarding the main door to the house during the Uranian invasion, but does not fire on the spaceship which comes through, with Xeaphon by that point having been overthrown by Wisealise. It is subsequently mentioned, but not seen on-screen, in CB.XI and CB.XIV.

Dominus

  • First appearance: Cool Barbie XIV - The Invasion of the Eagle (2017)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XV - The Final Battle (2018)

Dominus is the name Colin assumes after possessing the body of Kronos. In CB.XII, Colin is given a relatively small amount of magical power by Kronos; however, as alluded to in CB.XIV, Kronos' magic is parasitical, meaning that Colin is able to drain the power of the Thunder Stone later on in CB.XII before being imprisoned in the Cryogenic Research Prison. Upon being freed in CB.XIV, Colin defeats and drains the power of the Eagle, then finds and drains the remaining magic from the corpse of the Hill Prince. At this point, Colin declares himself "the most powerful toy in history", and with a mere wave of his hand is able to breach the prison containing Kronos and not only free him, but fight, defeat, and possess him. Upon possessing Kronos' body together with the joint power of the Thunder Stone, Eagle, and Hill Prince, Colin states that Kronos is "inside [his] mind somewhere" and assumes the new name of Dominus before announcing that he will overthrow the humans and elves and take over the world. By CB.XV, Dominus has conquered Earth, having defeated the Elven Emperor and all others who have opposed him. He attempts to persuade the Prince of the Scourge to grant Earth "access to the Scourge Collective" as part of their claim to the planet, planning to further absorb all the power of the Scourge's intergalactic empire. However, he is killed by Xeaphon and Cool Barbie before this plan can be accomplished.

Elven Emperor

The Elven Emperor in CB.X
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie X - War in the Sky (2015)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XV - The Final Battle (2018)

The Elven Emperor is the leader of the High Elves. First appearing in CB.X, Corporal Barbie goes to him to beg for his help against the invading Scourge. Millenia old, and claiming to be "the greatest mage alive", he destroys the Scourge armada by using the Earth's magical field as a weapon. In the brief time he is on-screen he demonstrates several magical abilities; he reads Corporal Barbie's mind, and with a mere wave of his hand both forces her to kneel and reverses the teleport by which she arrived. He maintains a psychic connection with Corporal Barbie, sending her visions in CB.XI and CB.XII; the first time, he informs her that it was he who remotely prevented the planet-destroying explosion, and the second time he warns her that she must kill Colin to avert future catastrophe. He appears for the final time in the introduction to CB.XV, making a final stand against Dominus' conquest of Earth. Despite his confidence in his ability to "smite" what he calls "the abomination", after a magical duel Dominus eventually triumphs, seemingly killing the Elven Emperor.

Kronos

Kronos in CB.XII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie XII - A Last Chance (2017)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XIV - The Invasion of the Eagle (2017)

Kronos, referred to by his supporters as the "Timeless Lord", is leader of the Titans, incredibly powerful beings which were defeated by Xeaphon VII and imprisoned underneath what is now the Land. Although they are referred to as "spirits" by the Supreme Allied Commander in the Xeaphon minisode and by Colin in CB.XIV, the Titans are extradimensional (and so technically alien) in origin. Kronos is briefly freed by Colin in CB.XII, in the hope that he will conquer the world on behalf of the Scourge. However, he gets little chance to demonstrate his power (beyond breaching the Land's interior forcefield with a mere wave of his hand; in CB.VIII, it took a sustained attack from Wisealise using powerful alien technology to break through), as he is soon re-imprisoned by Xeaphon XVIII, who uses the Thunder Stone and the Staff of Forest Elves. He is freed again by Colin at the end of CB.XIV, only to be defeated and possessed by the now super-powerful toy. While possessing his body, Colin describes Kronos as "inside my mind, somewhere," and declares himself to be the new entity Dominus.

Scourge Prince

The Scourge Prince's feet as seen at the end of CB.X
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie X - War in the Sky (2016)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie XI - Infiltration (2016)

The Scourge Prince is a leader of the Scourge. He is first seen at the end of CB.X, vowing vengeance on Earth after it destroys the Scourge Armada and ordering some unnamed prisoners to be brought to him. He is next seen at the end of CB.XI with Colin, threatening to kill him before giving him "one last chance" to conquer Earth for the Scourge. The face of the Scourge Prince is not seen; all scenes with him in were shot from his point of view. The Prince is also mentioned during CB.XV, refusing Dominus' requests to grant Earth as a subject planet of the Scourgian Empire access to the Scourge Collective. After receiving a curt reply from Dominus, the Scourge Prince prepares to open fire on Earth, but his command ship is destroyed by Xeaphon using the Staff of High Elves.

Wisealise

Wisealise breaks through the Land's forcefield in CB.VIII
  • First appearance: Cool Barbie VII - Secession (2012)
  • Last appearance: Cool Barbie VIII - Plan of the Scourge (2014)

Wisealise is an old enemy of Xeaphon who in the past temporarily forced Xeaphon and his parents out of the Land. Wisealise first appears at the end of CB.VII with Troll 2 and the Captain of the Golden Arrows in some sort of dark storage area. He informs them that he has "contacted the general's ship", and that "the fleet is on its way". He then boasts that he will get revenge on Xeaphon, and that Colin will soon rule the Land again.

Wisealise mainly features in CB.VIII, in which he is the primary antagonist. He attacks the Land during the Uranian invasion, briefly taking it over in order to free Bubbles, install Colin as ruler of the toys, and free the Titans to drain their power. However, he is killed by a magical explosion when Corporal Barbie and Moonita interfere with his attempt to free the Titans, and reveals with his dying words that he is of a race known as the Scourge, and that others will come to avenge him.

Minor characters

  • The Flame Lord is mentioned by Wisealise as the Titan he first plans to free in CB.VIII.
  • The Forest Elf briefly appears in the Xeaphon minisode. Played by Lady Jennifer, she presents Xeaphon the Staff of Forest Elves so as to help him better guard the Titans' prison entrances, instructing him to use it wisely.
  • A mysterious spirit meets Xeaphon in CB.XV when he arrives on Mount Scellfa to search for the Wind Stone. Magically forcing him to his knees, the disembodied voice makes the Wind Stone appear in front of Xeaphon, telling him that he need go no further but that he must take the Stone and defeat Dominus.
  • The Mysteron appears only in CB.IX. Fleeing the Uranian conquest of Mars, it arrives on Earth offering to give NETDOF technology with which they can take the Moon and Mars from Uranian control. However, before it gets a chance to do this, it is fatally shot while trying to force the Golden Arrow in that episode to deactivate his gun.
  • A Scourge is featured in CB.XI, attacking the Land's military as a diversion for Colin to set up the sabotaged laser cannon technology, and teleporting away when the cannon is activated.
  • The Uranian from CB.V was the sole occupant of the Moonbase, a Uranian scientific facility based on the Moon. Captured by Sergeant Grey and Corporal Barbie in CB.V, he is teleported back to Earth, where he breaks free from Spectrum custody and kills at least one guard before being killed by Sergeant Grey. The relative ease with which he was killed serves as a useful comparison with Bubbles to demonstrate just how powerful the latter is.
  • The Uranian Bodyguard plays a minor role in CB.VIII, accompanying the Uranian General as he comes to the Land to retrieve Bubbles.
  • The Uranian General is the highest-ranking Uranian featured in the series. He heads the Uranian invasion of Earth in CB.VIII, demanding international surrender before leading aerial bombardment of the planet. After Wisealise takes over the Land, the Uranian General arrives and meets the newly-freed Bubbles before ordering the fleet to withdraw from Earth with him.

Animals

  • Rose (played by herself) starred in CB.IV, as one of the Protectors of the Realm. She helped Ken the Elder and Xeaphon drive off the burglar at the beginning of the episode, and was later locked in her "hutch" by Colin's trolls to stop her preventing their coup. Rose died in April 2014; although this is not explicitly alluded to in the series, her picture is seen in a classroom during a history lesson in CB.IX.
  • Edd (played by himself) stars as one of the Protectors of the Realm. He first appears in CB.III, killing the Dalek and knocking out Bubbles, saving Cool Barbie's life. He then appears in CB.IV being locked in his "hutch" by Colin's trolls to stop him from preventing their coup, and also features in CB.IX accompanying Xeaphon to confront the Mysteron landing in the Garden.
