Lord Michael von Friedeck, Baron Ballinger is an Überstadti jurist and military officer, as well as the father of King Adam I of Überstadt.

Early life and education

Von Friedeck was born in Seattle and raised in his family home in Edmonds, Washington. He was the youngest of the four children of Ralph and Betty von Friedeck. His father was a secondary school teacher. He attended Woodway High School before its absorption into the present-day Edmonds Woodway High School, and later attended Shoreline Community College.

Work and family

While young, von Friedeck worked a variety of jobs, including at local businesses such as Farrels Ice Cream Parlor, Edmonds Bakery, and music store Kennelly Keys. He began working for Shoreline Water District in the early 1990s, where he works today as Operations Lead.

Von Friedeck and his wife Kara married in 1993. They moved into the present-day Royal Residency and had their first son, Adam, in 1995. Their second son, Aaron, was born in 1998.

Überstadt

When Überstadt was founded, von Friedeck considered the project unusual and was highly skeptical of it. He consented to the annexation of his property as the Barony of Rosewood in early 2013, however. That same year, he joined His Majesty's Navy and was commissioned as a Captain, commanding the HMNS Bert George. He additionally accepted his appointment by his wife, as the only other member of the judiciary, as High Chancellor, Überstadt's constitutional and appellate judge. In December 2015, he accepted an appointment as Minister for the Economy in preparation for the departure of his son King Adam, the previous minister, to university.
