Ludwig Collins, (Born Ludwig Padraig Collins, 1 August 2008) is an Irish retired micronationalist and former rebel who alongside Ivan Ryan, is the founder of Ballinfoyleburg. He was the Chairman of Fatherland Front in Ballinfoyleburg and the Vice-Secretary of the Party for Democracy and Socialism in Pinang. On the Irish political left, Collins describes himself as a democratic and libertarian socialist.

Micronationalist career

Roscamistan

Collins was first introduced to micronationalism in October 2021, by his friend Thomas Jacobs. He was inducted into the Defence Forces as Chief of the Defence Staff on 10 October 2021, and served as active military head, behind President Jacobs as Commander-in-Chief. After Patusky's walkout between 21 October and 29 October 2021, Collins was nominated for the office of Secretary of State for Defence, though after Patusky's return, he was made Propaganda Minister instead.

In the only national ministerial election, Collins ran for Defence Secretary, ending up in last place, behind Marykate Keenan and the winner Doros Patusky, though remained Chief of the Defence Staff.

After Collins was removed from his positions by Doros Patusky due to the December 2021 Roscamistan-Ballinfoyleburg crisis, he remained a private citizen until his appointment on 19 January 2022 as the Secretary of State for Finance. would run for February 2022 Roscamistan presidential election, coming in second place behind Doros Patusky. In March 2022, was appointed Governor of Galway City after a successful provincial government was installed there, and on the 17th that month, was reinstalled as Chief of the Defence Staff after Patusky’s removal. Collins would begin to serve a more prominent place in the nation after inactivity from President-elect Patusky.

On 18 April 2022, he was elected to the Chamber of Representatives, and was selected to be Leader of the Majority Caucus. A week later, Marco Hasse was appointed the first Lieutenant Governor of Galway City, under him as Governor.

Ballinfoyleburg

Ludwig was the founder of Ballinfoyleburg alongside Ivan Ryan. The two came up with the idea while on a bus ride in Mervustan, and the inspiration came from Roscamistan. Collins started out as Vice President of Ballinfoyleburg after its foundation. On 13 January 2022, Ryan resigned as President of Ballinfoyleburg and took his place. He would go on to lose the 2022 Ballinfoyleburg presidential election, but would regain the presidency after Ballinfoyleburg transitioned to a Commonwealth. In February 2023, Ballinfoyleburg became a one-party state and Ludwig Collins gained full power as the Chairman of Fatherland Front.

Notes

  1. The 8th of April, 2023 is the accepted date by Galwegian historians for the end of Collins’ term. Though Ballinfoyleburg claimed to be in existence post-Conquest, majority of Galwegian nations accept its dissolution as the 8th of April.
