The Lyteran Armed Forces (LAF) was the national military of the Kingdom of Lytera.
The Lyteran Armed Forces were overseen directly by the Queen, and directed by the Royal Military Council during wartime. The Monarch held the position of commander-in-chief, and made the majority of decisions by herself. The LAF formerly consisted of the Imperial Lyteran Army (ILA), the Imperial Lyteran Navy (ILN) and the Imperial Lyteran Naval Airforce (ILNA). All the ranks were in German, bar the Pink Berets, though addressing members of the LAF by their English rank equivalent was allowed.
The Imperial Army was technically founded by King Matthew on his first day in power, but the Pink Berets had been in operation beforehand since 2012. The Berets acted as a de facto army for Lytera, though were, and still are, more equivalent to an elite marine group. The Navy and Airforce were founded on 21 August 2018. The LAF was one of the few ways to gain full citizenship without having land annexed under your control, but only if you took part in an active conflict. On June 27, 2020, following an argument between Amelia I and Duke Matthew over the Armed Force's loyalty to the state and throne over allegations they were preparing to back a Lyteran Democratic Alliance coup, the Army,Navy and Airforce were suspended from service, with the Pink Berets remaining, but Duke Matthew being removed from his position in it. The Act of the Dissolution of the Armed Forces, passed on November 7, dissolved the Army, Navy and Airforce.
Imperial Lyteran Army
The Imperial Lyteran Army was founded on 19 August 2017. It was the largest section of the LAF, with 10 members (though some of these members are also members of other sections). The Army was involved in combat for the first time in the Lyteran War of the Crown, when it successfully defeated the then incumbent King Matthew, deposing him in favour of King Amelia.
The Army grew in size over the years, with a recruitment drive at local schools due to Matthew. The Army was divided into Regiments, which was then further divided into divisions. The Army, when training, was usually outfitted with Nerf Guns, provided by Duke Matthew.

Pennant Numbers
Like the British Navy, the Lyteran Navy uses pennant numbers to recognise ships easily. The Letter indicates the ship class, and the number indicates when the ship was commissioned, with lower numbers meaning older ships. When a ship is struck off the register, it's pennant number is re-issued.

The Imperial Lyteran Naval Airforce was established on 21 August 2018, but lacked any planes. It did, however, consist of air-pump rockets. It had only 2 (with the King not technically being a part of it) members, but was the more active of the three main branches.
