The Meek Cabinet was the founding government of the North American Confederation. Starting from 28 November 2010 until the collapse of the government on 28 April 2011, the government was led by Commu-Socialist leader Aaron Meek. The Meek Cabinet dealt with many external and internal issues with the North American Confederation and eventually collapsed along with the rest of the nation. It was eventually succeeded by the Marx Cabinet.
The cabinet was established during the first Confederation on 28 November 2010 with the appointment of Aaron Meek as the first Prime Minister and Joseph Marx as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. As the government progressed, more ministers were eventually taken on. The cabinet worked to formulate many of the cultural and governmental programs that would unify and strengthen the new nation, including the formation of a constitution and distinct land claims.
Despite its best efforts, the cabinet was forced to face with three major political crises. First was the "Lethler Experiment", a reveal that one the most influential members of the micronational community of the period, Robert Lethler, was actually entirely fictional and invented. This reveal sent shockwaves through the community and placed a lot of pressure on the other nations to fill in the vacuum left by Erusia, a position the newly formed Confederation was unprepared for.
The second major issue was the dealings with territorial disputes between the Republic of Ohio, a member state of the Confederation, and several other aggressive Ohioan nations. These disputes threatened to turn violent and the lack of a formal constitution made it difficult for the cabinet to properly act. The disputes petered out as the competing nations eventually collapsed.
The final incident and the one that would lead to the end of Meek's government was the "Micras Crisis". There was a significant group of citizens that desired to move the Confederation into a purely digital sphere through the use of a site called Micras. The Emperor was one of them and abdicated his throne, creating an internal power vacuum within the Confederation's government. The lack of the Emperor's presence crippled the nation's ability to function and the government eventually dissolved on 28 April 2011, causing the Confederation to enter an Interregnum period for around four years.
