The Minister of Defense of the Arstotzkan Union was the executive head of the Ministry of Defense of the Arstotzkan Union and served as the chief minister of the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces. The role in relation to the command and authority over the AUDF was second to the President of the Arstotzkan Union and later the First President.
The role was created on 22 August 2019 to act as a medium between the Arstotzkan Union National Government and the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces. However due to the power that was held in the role, it was used to spark civil conflict in the infant nation in 2019. Due to this the role was removed and remade into the Senior Chairman of the Department of National Defense on 14 September 2020.
History
The role of the Minister of Defense was established with the Arstotzkan Union on August 22, 2019. The role was that the Minister of Defense would act as a member of the National Assembly that would advocate the processes of the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces. In September, Minister of Defense Piran McGee, denounced the President following plans to strength the Arstotzkan Union's already radical and "un-constitutional" immigration policy. The Ministry of Defense then launched an attack on the Government and forced the President to renounce the Arstotzkan Union. The began what is known as the Arstotzkan Wars, and they would last until early 2020.
On November 23, 2020, President Ethan named Zion Ormsby as the new Minister of Defense. Zion would hold the role until Piran McGee was given the role on February 28, 2020.
By September the plan for the creation of Arstotzkan High Command was implemented and, on the 14th the council was created and removed the Ministry of Defense and the role of the Minister.
Legacy
The Minister of Defense is a role that will always be remembered with Controversy. In February 2020, the President called the role "Minister of Attack" in reference to the role that it played beginning the Arstotzkan Wars.
