The Ministry of the Environment, officialy Ministry of State for the Environment (Portuguese: Ministério de Estado para o Meio Ambiente) is a ministerial department of Ebenthal responsible for the country's environmental policy. It is led by the Minister of the Environment who is appointed by the Prime Minister. It is Ebenthal's youngest ministry, created with the aim of taking a clear stand on dramatic environmental issues.
