The Monarchy Of Grant Island

The Monarchy of the Kingdom of Grant Island, is the political institution comprising a Monarch of Grant Island and the Imperial Royal Family. The Monarch - males titled as King and females as Queen - is head of state of the Kingdom of Grant Island, Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land, by virtue of which they wield the extensive executive, legislative, and judicial powers of the Throne. The First and current Monarch is H.M King Terrance, who has held the Throne since February 2004.


The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land is a fledgling, genial nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. The hard-working, cynical, devout population Marie Byrdians are ruled by a mostly-benevolent King, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up. The Monarch has supreme authority and where that authority is not restricted by any written laws, legislature, or customs. The Monarch is Head of all governmental bodies and the monarch can alter or dissolve at will.

Powers and duties

According to The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land law, the Monarch has sole prerogative over the following:

  • The power to issue Imperial Decrees and Imperial Edicts.
  • The power to Appoint Candidates for Prime Minister.
  • The power to appoint Representatives to the Cabinet.
  • The power to issue Officer Commisons in the Armed Forces of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land
  • The Monarch is Head of the Armed Forces of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land
  • The power to enter people into the four highest-ranking of the Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land Orders of Chivalry.
  • The power to appoint Landed Nobles to newly founded Towns, Provinces, Duchies and Regions.
  • The power to grant peerages and the titles of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land and its member States.
  • The power to appoint the judges of High Courts.
  • The Monarch has many more minor powers and duties.

History

Early monarchy

The Monarchy of Grant Island was founded by King Terrance on February 15, 2004 shortly after finding the Kingdom of Grant Island. He wanted The Monarchy is a duty in representing a dynasty, embodies the country's national identity with it's head is the monarch and exercises the role of sovereignty over the Territories of the Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land.

The Kingdom of Grant Island is a fledgling, genial nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Recent history

In 2010 King Terrance founded the Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land as a union of Special Administrative Regions that he was the monarch and head of state of. The Constitution of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land is uncodified and consists mostly of a collection of disparate written sources, including statutes, judge-made case law and international treaties, together with constitutional conventions. All of the nations are autonomous administrative division is a subdivision or dependent territory of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land and a degree of self-governance and autonomy.
