The Monarchy of Matuco is the head of state and ruler of the Principality of Matuco. The monarch holds executive powers under Matuco's semi-constitutional monarchy. The monarch holds the title of prince or princess and is styled as "His/Her Sovereign Grace". The monarch is also the head of the royal family - currently the House de Torrez.

The current monarch is Princess Olivia I.

Powers

The monarch plays an important role in Matucan politics. Matuco is a semi-constitutional monarchy, and vests the monarch with significant powers.

The powers of the monarch include but are not limited to:

  • Appointment of the Chancellor and Other Cabinet Ministers
  • Granting Royal Assent or Vetoing Legislation from the National Assembly
  • Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
  • Calling or Dissolving the National Assembly
  • Calling General Elections

Titles and Styles

The official style of the sovereign is "Sovereign Grace". Its a style unique to Matuco and was selected by first monarch, Princess Olivia I, as she felt that the styles of "Majesty", "Highness" and "Grace" were unfitting for the monarch as they hold the title of prince or princess.

In official correspondences from the monarch, the pronouns referring to the monarch are typically capitalised.

Residence

The official residence of the monarchy and royal family is Fangor Palace, which is located in Jouver. It acts as the seat of the monarchy.
