National Day (Hindi: राष्ट्रीय दिवस), also known as Foundation Day, Establishment Day and Independence Day, is one of the most prominent federal national holiday celebrated on 15 April every year. The occasion commemorates the foundation of the Children's Group on 15 April 2007 by the three founders of the nation - Arnisha Phatowali, Varuna Sriraya, and Tanishkaa Patranabish. The national day events also coincide with the first day of the Bengali and Assamese New Year, due to which public gatherings, dinner and meetups have often been avoided in order to allow citizens to spend time with families.

The national day celebrations have taken place continuously since 2013 when the date was recognized by the government and declared as a public holiday. It was on 2015 National Day that the federal honours system were introduced and the first inductions took place at Rajya Niwas, Beltola.

Every year on national day, the head of state, the deputy head of state, the prime minister and other senior officials issue their congratulatory messages to the citizens of the state conveying their thoughts and good wishes for the progress and prosperity of the nation. Since 2021, the National Day Honours have continuously been issued by the Rashtradhyaksh to recognize the contributions of various citizens and foreigners towards the development of the nation.

Anniversaries

In 2017, the government had issued a plan to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the foundation of the nation with a gathering at the Rajya Niwas in Beltola. However, the plans were cancelled last minute consequent to the demise of the grandmother of Tanishkaa Patranabish only a week prior to the national day. Later, in July the same year, the event took place with less pomp and grandeur as planned.

In 2022, the fifteenth anniversary was observed throughout the nation. Addresses to the nation were delivered by Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya, Chairman of the Conference of Rulers Bishnu Chetry, Prime Minister Farhaz Hazarika, President of the House of Councillors Jayden Dagsa, and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Tyler Mullins. The Commemorative Medal of the Crystal Jubilee of the Foundation of Vishwamitra was also issued on the same day and conferred on several notable people who are associated with Vishwamitra. The Cyear 2022-2023 has been recognized as the "Crystal Jubilee Year". Commemorative logo and wordmark have also been designed and issued on the occasion.
