The New Organization of Free Nations, abbreviated to NOFN is an intermicronational organization established as an effective third party faction to the ongoing Almendrian Wars. The Organization is the successor organization to the original Organization of Free Nations established after the deposition of McKay C as Chairman of the Rocky Mountain Confederation on 6 December 2021. The organization is both a military and diplomatic pact, with a Security Council and Diplomatic Council. The current Chairman is Joseph Montgomery of the Empire of Meritia and the Head Councilman is Conor Newman of the Kingdom of Fontasia. There are currently 30 member states in the NOFN, and no observer states.

History

Organization of Free Nations (6 December 2021-13 July 2022)

The December Revolt

The predecessor of the New Organization of Free Nations was the Organization of Free Nations, the successor state of Rocky Mountain Confederation (RMC) which was lead by the United States of the Rocky Mountains. In late November 2021 political turmoil caused a near civil war in the RMC, which later lead to an intermicronational trial by the RMC's court that ruled that McKay C of the United States of the Rocky Mountains was abusing his powers and consolidating control for himself in an otherwise democratic organization. The result of the ruling lead to him declaring emergency powers, which further lead to the forceful deposition of his control by Joseph Montgomery of the Empire of Meritia, Džözyp Trick of the Kingdom of Scynja and Conor Newman of the former Second Assemblic Federation. The overthrow lead to the formal establishment of the democratic and anti-autocratic Organization of Free Nations, which was inspired by the Organization of Free Nations from the Hearts of Iron IV modification "The New Order: Last Days of Europe." 6 December 2021 was later celebrated as "Victory Day" in several OFN member states.

Early Organization of Free Nations and the Liberations

The early days of the OFN were relatively unstable. Only a few days after the deposal, the OFN main server was attacked by discord raiders of the group known as the "United Space Federation." However the attack was short and occupation lasted only a few hours. As a result, the OFN made liberating servers from oppressive control was its top priority. The first server intervention conducted by the OFN was the takeover of the Global Diplomacy Alliance, which had virtually no resistance. The OFN then took control of the Esharian discord server.

After a few weeks of occupation, democratic rule was instated in the two servers.

Decline of the OFN and Obsoletion

Into early 2022, there was a decent amount of activity on the OFN main server, and relatively no liberations occurred. By February 2022 however the server was inactive, with at maximum one message posted in a month. Several points in March and April saw some revival of activity, but it ended quickly. By May 2022 the organization was nearly forgotten about, after a server change in hopes to revive activity. 

New Organization of Free Nations (13 July 2022-????)

Beginnings

In late June it became apparent that Tizianist Almendria, a major micronational force in the Discord community notorious for its erratic leadership was gaining far too much influence. Micronations agreed to unfair treaties to make them puppet states of Almendria. The Kingdom of Fontasia, Empire of Meritia and Kingdom of Scynja fiercely opposed these "autonomous republics" and believed they were merely Almendrian colonies. In early July 2022, the Kingdom of Fontasia and Almendria broke ties which lead to a tremendous amount of tension rising between the two, which continues to this day. On 11 July, the King of Fontasia was invited to the "Organization of Free Micronations" a new organization also based around the Hearts of Iron IV modification. However, the leadership there rejected Fontasian membership, which prompted the Kingdom of Fontasia to re-establish the Organization of Free Nations on 13 July 2022 as a third-party faction in the Almendrian Wars, rivaling the Pro-Almendrians and the Nexan Remnants. In the first few days, membership exploded with the organization gaining 20 members in just a few days. A few days after its establishment, an allied discord server known as Admirilia was attacked by Almendria which further inspired the NOFN's establishment.

First Elections

After a few weeks of establishment, the alliance grew exponentially, taking a firm stance against Almendria. On 10 August 2022, the first round of elections occurred, which lead to member states gaining powerful seats of power democratically. In the days following, the NOFN quickly recognized itself as a growing third-party faction in the Almendrian Wars. On 18 August 2022, the NOFN microwiki article was started.

As of August 2022, the NOFN stands with 30 members, with more residing in the Diplomatic Council rather than the Security Council. There are currently no observer states.
