Nobility of Ascar

The nobility of Ascar is made up of those who have been granted or inherited a title and are entitled to sit in the House of Peers. Nobles of Ascar do not rule over any land.

Lord of Ascar

The title Lord of Ascar is a hereditary distinction in the nobility of Ascar. It is an extraordinary honour granted only to a small number of nobles for their service to the crown. It is similar to the rank of Peer of France or Grandee of Spain. Lords of Ascar are afforded the style of Most Honourable before their title. Children of Lords of Ascar can use the style the Honourable

Children of nobles and succession

Titles pass down through a nobles descendants with the rules of absolute primogeniture. If a noble chooses to do so they can pass one of their lesser titles onto one of their children, their primary title is exempt from this rule. This is different to the courtesy title system of Ascar. Heirs apparent of titles are typically granted one of their parent's lesser titles. All other children may use a prefix corresponding to their parent's rank and the location of the title as part of their surname.

Prince of Ascar

The title Prince/Princess of Ascar is used by all children/grandchildren of the Archprince. The title is not hereditary though descendants of Princes or Princesses of Ascar may use the surname of Ascar or von Ascar.
