The Occupation of Berghav was the name given to the war between the United Kingdom of New Elmhurst, and the Kingdom of Berghav by New Elmhurst's Dictator, Eren Lewis.

Causes

In late March, Sean S, a student that went to the same school as Eren lewis formed an independent Micronation, the Kingdom of Berghav. Noticing that most of its citizens were also citizens of New Elmhurst, Lewis decided that he would attempt to pull the new state into New Elmhurst. After S. refused unification, Lewis, with the permission of the King, declared war on Berghav.

Weaponry

The war was fought completely with boffers, or foam weapons. The New Elmhurstian forces for a majority of the occupation were armed with swords, though spears and axes stolen from the Berghavian forces were used later. The Berghavian forces had swords, axes, and spears.

The War

On the 5th of April, New Elmhurstian forces marched to the border of Berghav, crossing it, beginning the actual conflict. As the combatants were students, and still friends, a system of rules was created by both forces. Each soldier would have 4 'hit points'. If he was hit four times, he would run from the front lines to wherever their forces were camped out. They could run back to the front lines three times before being 'dead'. They would return the next battle.

This battle took a bit longer then the first, but still resulted in a New Elmhurstian victory. New Elmhurst had lost a single man, with the Berghavians loosing all of their forces. The New Elmhurstian forces did not continue the advance, but camped out for a short period of time, resting, before continuing the rest of the attack.

The First Battle for Berghav Hill was one of the longest. After defeating the Berghavians, the New Elmhurstians rested, giving the Berghavians time to recover. Noticing how far into Berghav the New Elmhurstian forces had made it, the King gave his men a speech, encouraging them to fight on. As the New Elmhurstians approached the field the Berghavians were camped in, the King led his men in a charge, almost forcing the New Elnhurstians back. The New Elmhurstians made it onto the field, triggering a major conflict. At the beginning, three Berghavian soldiers and two New Elmhurstians had fallen. A New Elmhurstian soldier picked off another Berghavian, but was hit, leaving Lewis and the Berghavian. For about fifteen minutes they fought, in the end, the both ended up falling, triggering both forces to retreat to their original encampments to recover.

The final battle began as the New Elmhurstian forces pushed the Berghavians into their final land, a small, old pool deck without a pool. It was declared the capital of Berghav shortly before the battle began. Berghavian forces rushed up onto it, now having an advantage over the New Elmhurstians. Using throwing daggers and spears, the New Elmhurstians managed to pick a couple Berghavian soldiers off. The Berghavians rushed the New Elmhurstians, jumping off the deck at them, forcing them into the field. Berghavian soldiers were weak and tired at this point, and were mostly picked off, except for one. As one New Elmhurstian dealt with her, Lewis grabbed the New Elmhurstian war flag, and began heading to the capital. As the final berghavian soldier fell, the remaining New Elmhurstians rose the war flag over the Capital, declaring their victory.

Berghavian surrender

New Elmhurstian high command and Berghavian high command met a couple minutes after the victory to discuss peace terms. It was decided that Berghav would become an autonomous territory of New Elmhurst, run by the Dictator through the Governor-General of the land. King Sean was made Governor General a few minutes later. The King discussed the terms with his high command. Ten minutes later, the King signed the treaty of surrender, dissolving the short lived state. The Dictator and his command left Berghav at around 5 PM.

Aftermath

Most of New Elmhurst's forces left with the Dictator, leaving the newly founded Berghavian branch to defend and administer the territory. Berghav is officially an autonomous territory of New Elmhurst. The Governor General is able to pass laws with the permission of the Dictator, so long as they do not contradict national law.
