Old Hokoria, formerly known simply as Hokoria, was a micronation in West Yorkshire, a county in the United Kingdom. It was a state where the Head of State was a member of the Hokorian Royalty, and the Leader of Hokoria was democratically elected. It was founded following the Republic of Aweland being dissolved. The Head of State of Hokoria also founded Aweland, and created Old Hokoria to have the same values but a different structure of government. Willow Cizdeizd I used connections from Aweland to form foreign relations.

Etymology

The name Hokoria originates from the Japanese word '誇りあ' or 'hokori a' which means proud. Hokoria followed the Republic of Aweland in having a focus on supporting the LGBTQ+ community. The founder, Willow Cizdeizd I was openly trans non-binary.

Independence was declared from the United Kingdom on 3 January 2023 through an official publication from the Office of the Head of State.

Seizure of Government

On 13 January 2023, Willow Cizdeizd I seized control of the Hokorian Government through an 'EXCUTIVE SEIZURE ORDER'. This effectively removed the Leader of Hokoria, Laurel Mary Bäch, from office. All members of government were dismissed.
