The Orange Internet Republic (Dutch: Oranje Internet Republiek) is a Dutch internet based micronation. The government center is located in the Dutch village of Emmeloord and is inhabited by Youri Koeman, founder and eternal president of the OIR.


The 22-year-old Koeman rallied the Orange Internet Republic on 14-4-2018 from his apartment in Emmeloord, a small town in the north of the province of Flevoland. He stated that from now on his country claimed a place on the worldwide web. Because of this he did not have to search for free territory and he could control the country from behind his computer. The country claimed to be a republic led by one person, who bears the title of Eternal President. It has also been decided that if the president decides to lay down his duties, he may then appoint a family member as a new head of state. The rule is what the new head of state should be male and he must be at least 16 years old. It is not possible to stop if a replacement has not yet been found.


Because the country is an internet republic, the country also has internet sport teams. There is a football team on the browser game Goal United, called OIR National Team. This team plays at the Orange Stadium. There is also a Brawhalla team, consisting of the president himself and his 15-year-old brother. This team is called Orange Constrictor. And finally there is also a Basketball team, called Orange Basketball. This team is active on
