The Most Distinguished Order for Merit and Public Service (Hindi: सर्वोत्कृष्टता एवं सार्वजनिक सेवा मानपदवी, IAST: Sarvotkrishtata evam Saarvajanik Seva Manpadavi) is the ninth and the junior-most order of chivalry in the State of Vishwamitra founded by the Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy on 6 January 2021 to recognize the services of people towards various fields of human endeavour - art, culture, heraldry, vexillology and bravery. The order is conferred in a single grade - Companion (CMP).
History
The Order for Merit and Public Service was established on 6 January 2021 by Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy through a royal decree after being inspired to establish one such order to commemorate and celebrate the heroic action of the Duke of Osian after he saved the life of one of his neighbours from a devastating housefire.

Grade
The Order for Merit and Public Service is a single-grade order and is conferred in the grade of Companion. Companions of the order bear the post-nominal letters of CMP. The order takes precedence after the Order of the Precious Crown.

Criteria
The order is exclusively conferred upon civilians for their extraordinary contributions to fields of art or other human endeavour, in addition to personal or public bravery and heroism. Contributions to dance, music or equivalent are considered to the field of culture; Painting, craftsmanship, heraldry, vexillology, etc are considered to be in the field of art.
