The Most Honourable Order of Uttaranchal (Hindi: अति सम्मानीय दर्ज़ह उत्तरांचल, Ati Sammanniya Darjah Uttaranchal) is the second highest chivalric order of the Vishwamitran state of Uttaranchal which is conferred by the Rajpramukh of Uttaranchal as the head of the House of Chetry which is the current ruling house of the state. The order was constituted on 4 May 2022 along with the Royal Family Order of Uttaranchal in conjunction with the 21st birthday anniversary of His Majesty the Rajpramukh of Uttaranchal, who is also the sovereign of the order.

The order ranks below the Royal Family Order and is conferred in recognition of the extraordinary services rendered by individuals towards Beltola and her people.

History

The Order of Uttaranchal was established on 4 May 2022 as the highest order of the state of Uttaranchal and is the second state order to be created along with the Royal Family Order of Uttaranchal. It was also created in conjunction with the 21st birthday of the Rajpramukh.

Grades and insignia

Grades

The Order of Uttaranchal is conferred in five distinguished grades of:

  • Grand Knight/Dame or Darjah Sri Utama Uttaranchal - D.S.U.U. (limited to maximum 15 living recipients)
  • Grand Commander or Darjah Sri Prathama Uttaranchal - D.P.U.U.
  • Commander or Darjah Utama Uttaranchal - D.U.U.
  • Officer or Darjah Prathama Uttaranchal - D.S.U.
  • Member or Darjah Sadasya Uttaranchal - D.S.U.

Insignia

The ribbon bars of the Order of Uttaranchal is in yellow in colour with four white vertical stripes: two each of equal width.

Appearance

  • Grand Knight or Dame: It is awarded in a set of breast star, a badge and a yellow coloured sash with two wide white stripes at each corner and two narrow white stripes, worn from right shoulder to the left waist.
  • Grand Commander: It is awarded in a set of breast star and a necklet worn around the neck.
  • Commander: It is awarded in a necklet worn around the neck.
  • Officer: It is awarded in the form of a medallion in gold which is hung on the ribbon.
  • Member: It is awarded in the form of a medallion in silver which is hung on the ribbon.
