Participatory democracy is a variation of Direct Democracy that advocates the involvement of all members of a political group in the decision-making process, as opposed to having the full population vote or a handful of representatives to vote. Participatory democracy can effectively be seen as a form of devovled Representation, where much more power is granted to the general population but the actual power to make decisions remains with a group - albeit a much larger group - of voters.
