The Pine Tree War is a war between Surdam and Kalibi. It started after the Surdamian invasion of East Little Field on June 17 2022. The war ended on August 12th 2022 after the Battle of Little Field with a Surdamian victory. The war went on for 1 month and 25 days, making it the longest war Surdam has fought.

Timeline

Prelude

For the weeks leading up to the beginning of the war, tensions in the Trench River region was increasing rapidly. The three nations that occupy the region, Surdam, the Rose Kingdom, and Kalibi were trying to start friendly diplomatic relations with each other, there was even talks of an economic alliance between the three. On June 1st following the creation of Kalibi, a territorial dispute was risen between Kalibi and Surdam over the Little Field, trying to avoid a war Kalibi suggested to spit the land along the cement path that ran through it. The nations agreed to it but Surdam got the smaller side of the field, West Little Field, and Kalibi got the much larger side, East Little Field. Shortly after this Surdam was doing military training in the Trench River Valley soon Kalibi Forces showed up to scout on Surdamian Land, after seeing this Surdamian forces charged the scouts scaring them away. The Surdamians went back to little Rapids City to finish training but the scouts followed them and were just outside the Surdamian border, a skirmish almost broke out, but the situation was derailed. This event was nicknamed the "Watchful Hawk Incident," it was called this to get the idea out Kalibi was planning to invade Surdam. After about two weeks, Surdam sent a list of demands to Kalibi that said, Surdam gets all of Little Field, Kalibi is reformed into a puppet state of Surdam, and Surdam can do any action in the region without opposition, and if not accepted by 6:00 pm MST Kalibi better be prepared to defend itself at 6:30 pm MST.

Surdam Invades

On the 17th of June 2022, 6:30 pm, the Surdamian 1st Infantry Regiment was led by Lane Caldwell to East Little Field (a territory of Kalibi). The soldiers got into position to attack any Kalibi forces that were there to stop them, but after waiting 10 minutes with no Kalibi soldiers in sight, the Surdamian soldiers invaded the territory anyways and took control of East Little Field. This invasion kickstarted The Pine Tree War.

Battle of Elizabeth Dam

On the 21st of June 2022, 4:00 pm, two Surdamian soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Regiment were waiting for a Kalibi attack in tall grass by Elizabeth Dam inside the Trench River Valley. Around five minutes later, four soldiers from Kalibi showed up to do a counter invasion of Surdam. The Surdamian troops used the tall grass to their advantage to try to fight the larger force. The Surdamians scared the Kalibi troops to the other side of Elizabeth Dam, and a 10 minute shoot out followed. Eventually the Surdamian troops got all the Kalibi troops out, thus the Battle of Elizabeth Dam was won by Surdam.

Dip in activity

After the Battle of Elizabeth Dam the war's activity took a major dip into inactivity. Leaders of the two nations and armies went to go do other things. But this only lasted for awhile.

Battle of Little Field

On the 12th of August, 2022, at 3:00 pm, the Surdamian 1st Infantry Regiment (The same troops who invaded Kalibi) were waiting behind fortifications for a Kalibi attack at Little Field. Kalibi troops eventually showed up but were hiding behind trees and buses avoiding the fight. Eventually Kalibi troops fired the first shots but continued to hide. Surdamian forces went on the offensive, doing a charge and quickly taking out the Kalibi forces. This resulted in Surdamian victory in the battle.

Treaty of Fort Trench

After the Battle of Little Field, Surdamian diplomats and Kalibi diplomats came together and declared peace by the signing of the Treaty of Fort Trench. Surdam gained the Little Field, and Kalibi gained noting but peace. The war officially ended on the 12th of August, at 8pm.
