Her Serene Highness Princess Ruma, Mrs. Bose, Princess of Purvanchal (born 14 October 1966) is a member of the Purvanchal Royal Family and the second child and eldest daughter of Prince Grandfather Nani Gopal, the founder of the royal house of Sriraya. She is the elder sister of Prince Father Debajyoti and Princess Lipi, and aunt of Dhrubajyoti Roy, Rashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra. She is the adoptive mother of Sarala, Crown Princess of Purvanchal.
Life
Princess Ruma was born on 14 October 1966 as the second of the four children of her parents - Prince Grandfather Nani Gopal and Princess Grandmother Arati. She is the younger sister of Prince Uncle Nirmal and the elder sister of Prince Father Debajyoti of Purvanchal and Princess Mother Lipi of Beltola and Basistha.
She married Samarendra Bose in 1995. The couple did not have any child. In 2010, the couple adopted Sarala, Crown Princess of Purvanchal.
Royal titles
Following the accession to the throne by his nephew, Dhrubajyoti Roy in 2020, she was granted the title of a Princess of Purvanchal being the daughter of the founder of the royal house. She is officially styled as "Her Royal Highness Princess Ruma, Mrs. Bose, Princess of Purvanchal".
