The Principality of Pelkesa is a self-declared sovereign state, commonly referred to as a micronation by external observers. Founded in 2020 after the November Crisis, the state is under the partial control of the Kingdom of Lytera, which has a monetary union with the state, is responsible for its defence, and is responsible for the state's foreign affairs. Aside from this, the nation is freely governed by its Prince, Matthew I, who was formerly both a King and Duke of Lytera. It, like Lytera, is one of two members of the Ruislip Tetrarchy.

Etymology

The name of Pelkesa comes from a combination of Pellaeon (An admiral in Star Wars) and Mesa.

History

The Principality of Pelkesa was formed after the events of the November Crisis as a compromise between Lytera and Duke Matthew, who were often at odds. After four revolts in two years, the government agreed that in exchange for being granted land that was originally going to be Lyteran for Matthew, that he would no longer play a role in Lyteran politics and not attempt any coups. The Badger Accords, named after a local leader, officially created the state. It's capital, Odyssey, takes up the entirety of the nation as it's only landclaim.

Law

The laws of the kingdom are similar to those of the United Kingdom. This is for easier punishments for people who are a threat to the kingdom, who commit crimes outside the boundaries of the nation.

The major laws: Age of Governance - 10 Age of Consent - 16 LGBT Rights - Equal Woman's Rights - Equal Religious Rights - Freedom of Religion Incest - Illegal Free Votes - Yes

Foreign Relations

All foreign affairs are conducted through Lytera, and any state Lytera recognises is de-facto recognised by Pelkesa as well.

Military

Pelkesa has no military, and its defence is handled by the Lyteran Police Force. Unofficially, the Pelkesan People's Front, a volunteer group, manages defence.

Economy

Pelkesa is in a Monetary Union with Lytera and as such uses the Lyteran Lyira.

Geography

Pelkesa is very flat and low level, being 44 meters above sea-level. It is grassy, and has few man-made structures in it.

Administrative Divisions

The capital, Odyssey, is split into 5 sectors of governance.
