The Rajpramukh of Purvanchal is the title of the hereditary absolute monarch of Purvanchal, Vishwamitra. The current Rajpramukh is His Exalted Highness Dhrubajyoti Roy. The current ruling house of the province of Purvanchal is the House of Sriraya, with the Rajpramukh being the head of the house.
Powers and roles
As the Rajpramukhs are to be the absolute monarchs of their respective provinces, they discharge duties of both head of state and head of government of their respective provinces. The Rajpramukh of Purvanchal discharges the following functions:
- The power to appoint a heir to the throne.
- The power to appoint members to the Royal Family of Purvanchal.
- The power to create agencies or bodies in the province.
- The power to appoint and remove the Governor of Rajagriha city.
- The power to confer provincial decorations as the Sovereign of two provincial orders -
The Royal Family Order of Purvanchal and the Order of the Crown of Purvanchal.
The Rajpramukh of Purvanchal is also a member of the Conference of Rulers and currently first in the line of seniority in the order of election of the Rashtradhyaksh. The current Rajpramukh of Purvanchal also serves as the Rashtradhyaksh of the nation since 1 August 2020.

Royal orders of Purvanchal
The Rajpramukh of Purvanchal is the Sovereign of the two provincial orders.
- The Royal Family Order of Purvanchal, which is the highest provincial decoration of the province of Purvanchal and is conferred only upon royals (both state and foreign). The order is conferred in two grades:
- The Order of the Crown of Purvanchal, is the second highest decoration of the province and is conferred upon royalties, political leaders and civilians. The order is conferred in a single grade:
