The Republic of Baumland is federal semi-presidential republic located on the Western and Eastern coasts of the North American continent. Founded in June 2020, the Republic of Baumland is comprised of two provinces and one federal territory. Since its founding it has been lead by Moderate Party President Ryan Krysinski and Prime Minister Harrison Lavelle.
An official successor state to the Banana Republic and Republic of Snowladen and distant successor state to Backyardtania and Backyard Country, the republic forms the latest member of the so-called Backyardtanian Sector and marks the first attempt to unify all the territories of this sector since the Minion-Banana Republic in 2013 and the first to participate more broadly in the Microwiki Sector.
History
The Republic of Baumland declared independence from the United States of America on June 29, 2020.
Government
As a semi-presidential republic executive power in the Republic of Baumland is divided between the Prime Minister and President, with the Prime Minister in charge of domestic policy, appointing cabinet ministers and enjoying the right of initiative. The President acts as head of state, appointing all consular and diplomatic staff as well as acting as commander-in-chief of the Baumlander Armed Forces. The President is elected every year to a renewable term in office.
The Parliament of Baumland acts as the legislative organ of the Baumlander Federal Government and is comprised of 5 members elected for a renewable six month term from single member districts across the Republic. Currently Parliament is lead by a coalition of the centrist Moderate Party and the left wing Democratic Socialist party.

The Republic of Baumland also operates on a federal system comprised of three different types of subdivisions: Territories, which are directly governed by the Baumlander federal government, Provinces, which retain a limited right to home rule, and Autonomous Regions, which enjoy autonomy over matters like language, religion, government form and currency. Currently Baumland comrpises of two provinces (Seeberg and Himmeland) and one territory (Burnt Cedar Territory).
Culture
Language
The Republic of Baumland retains two official languages: American English and Episch, a conlang currently in the process of development. Despite the status of both of these languages as official, at the moment American English remains the predominant language of government and media in the Republic of Baumland.
Religion
Though Baumland establishes no official religion in the federal constitution, and freedom of religion is guaranteed to all faiths, almost all citizens of the Republic of Baumland are either atheist, some denomination of Christian or practitioners of the Jeep Cult, a monotheistic, semi-serious faith which originates from the era of the Banana Republic.
