The Republic of Castile is a democratic micronation located in England. The republic was officially formed in mid-July 2022 and has a government somewhat styled off of the government of Portugal.
History
Foundation
The Republic of Castile was first established on 12 July 2022 under a provisional government to oversee initial national and governmental as well as to draft a constitution.
Government and Politics
The nation is established as a parliamentary republic. The Assembly of the Republic is the primary legislature of the nation and the Prime Minister sits as head of government. The prime minister and the assembly do the majority of day-to-day legislation of the republic but the president holds the absolute power to withhold assent to Bills proposed or passed by the assembly, which cannot be overturned by parliament, as well as holding some other powers.
The Council of Ministers consists of all government ministers in the republic, of which all are appointed by the President and nominated by the Prime Minister.
As of 12 July 2022 the nation is under a provisional government. This is to allow President Luke of Castile, the first and current president to organise the government and draft a constitution.
Culture
Western Culture is a large influence in the culture of the republic, as it is located within the United Kingdom. The national animal is the wolf and the national sports is karate.
