The Republic of Diversa, also known by its original name New Western Itazaria,[c] is a self-declared sovereign nation-state (more commonly referred to as a micronation by outsiders) with several nominal claims in Antarctica and Bir Tawil. The country's capital is Karl Marx City.

In 2020, the country was named after diversity. Diversity is considered by the Diversan People's Government to be one of the country's core values.

Diversa was founded in 2020 by Uğur Saçan and Devrim Apak as a protest against what they saw as injustice in the Western world.

Diversa maintains several nominal territorial claims in Antarctica and Bir Tawil.

Governance and administration

Diversa is a Unitary Marxist-Leninist one-party socialist republic.

The economy of the Republic of Diversa is based on state ownership of the means of production, collective farming, and industrial manufacturing. The highly centralized Soviet-type economic planning is managed by the administratrive-command system. The Diversan economy is characterized by state control of investment, a public ownership of industrial assets, macroeconomic stability, negligible unemployment and high job security.

Diversa has a unique multicultural cosmopolitan culture.

National holidays

Diversa has numerous national holidays which are manditorilally observed by its citizens. Labor on these days is legally banned from taking place.

Date Name Notes
1 January New Year's Day Celebrated as start of the new year.
23 January Defender of the Homeland Day Celebrates the Democratic People's Liberation Army and commemorates the founding of the Red Army. Unlike other countries observing this holiday, the name is gender-neutral in Diversa.

9 May Victory Day Celebrates the ratification of the surrender of the Third Reich and the downfall of Fascism in Europe.
12 October Indigenous Peoples' Day Celebrates and honors indigenous peoples.

National symbols

Diversa's flag is split into six horizontal sections in red, yellow, blue, white, black and green. The top section takes up half of the flag with the remaining half taken up by equally-sized sections in the remaining colors. The top section has a white heart on the side of the hoist.

Anti-racist, anti-sexist and anti-homophobic government policy

The Republic of Diversa is infamous for its strict anti-racist, anti-sexist and anti-homophobic government policies, including laws prohibiting usage of languages other than English and languages recognised by the Big Soviet as being indigenous, laws banning the creation of statues dedicated to British people, laws banning denial of the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide and the negative side-effects of the Atlantic slave trade, laws banning movies and popular culture if they portray United States Armed Forces and U.S. law enforcement in a positive light and laws banning Donald Trump and Ivan Brienović from entering Diversan territory.

These kind of policies, alongside remarks by Supreme Leader Uğur Saçan about Cornish people, Welsh people and Frisian people stating that the vast majority of people identifying as such are "self-appropriating" their local cultures and in fact English, Scottish, Irish, Dutch, German or Danish people attempting to deny their personal and their ancestors' personal influence in the Atlantic slave trade and its consequences, have been described as "self-defeating", "ridiculous", "hypocritical" and as racist, sexist and homophobic themselves.

Strict government policies, alongside messages by Supreme Leader Uğur Saçan defending satirical elements in micronationalism and mocking what he perceived as overly-serious elements, have led the Republic of Diversa and its policies to be described as the "communist Pavlov", "satirical" or as "bait". These allegations have been denied by Supreme Leader Uğur Saçan who has stated that "Diversa is fully serious and its citizens are expected to follow its laws".
