The Republic of The Irwell was a short-lived micronation that claimed as its territory the land encompassing a residential address within Greater Manchester region of Great Britain. Irwellia was occupied by family members, who style themselves Co-Presidents of Irwellia. The population of the micronation has remained consistent at two, and its inhabitable area is 60m². Irwellia's claims to sovereignty and legitimacy are not recognized by any UN-recognized country, yet has been recognized by several other micronations and has not been contested by the United Kingdom.
