The 4 km2 micronation encompasses the three main islands of the Siyal islands. Most of its residents reside in its capital, Uru city.

Historically, the island was uninhabited and has no significant past history prior to the founding of Uru.

Uru is an Islamic state consisting of 4 governorates. The country's official religion is Islam. The national currency is Egyptian pounds, and the national animal is the Secertary bird.

Etymology & Flag

Islamic state of Uru coat of arms

The Arabic name al-Uru (العر), originates from a shortened Arabic word for "Beautiful coast" (ت الرملية, amuhitat uru) a popular name for the area given by its citizens as well as fishermen in the Red sea from the Sinai. The name Uru was set for the official name of the country after a vote held by its president, Ahbak Hassan, to the citizens of Uru, of which the official name of Uru won the vote.

Uru's flag represents the landscape. The three bars represents the golden sands, white sky, blue ocean and the shining sun, as well as the words (الله أكبر English: God is great), being inspired by nearby Arabic country flags, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia. The coat of arms was designed by the president himself, representing the landscape, the national animal, as well as the berry bush plant which is a popular plant, being grown in Uru and the areas around it. Below is the three bars from the country's flag. The texts says the country's motto (الحرية والسلام والتقدم English: Freedom, peace, progress).

History

Map of Uru

The Islamic state of Uru was first created with an establishment of the Uru city, then with the second settlement, Akbad village, though it was abandoned soon after due to increasing complications. The main office is located in Cairo, Egypt, which was the first ever claim of Uru. On 13 July 2021, president Ahbak Hassan was voted in, gaining 75% of the votes against Al-Samyur, which is now the vice-president. Uru international was finished on 24 July 2021, a 700 foot long airstrip located in Uru city designed for ultralights and bush aircraft.

Government & Infrastructure

Goverment

The government of Uru is an Islamic state. The government branch consists of the President and the parliament. The president is re-elected every year. Unlike most Arab countries, Uru is not ruled by a royal family.

Transport

Citizens of Uru can enter the island by Uru air transport. Uru utilizes the Uruan air force's 2-seater Ultralight, which is converted into an passenger air service during peacetime. By using Uru air services, the visitor or citizen can simply be transported from a bigger city such as Aswan in Egypt dirently into Uru international. Since Uru only has one available ultralight at all times, Uru has no official airline. The service is also closed in wartime as the ultralight will not be available for passenger service.

Due to sharp coral, a port would be too shallow and dangerous for both watercrafts and humans.

Uru has a small postal service which handles the shipping of letters and postcards within the territories of Uru, whilst also shipping to other micronations. The postal service is also responsible for producing Uruan postage stamps which can be used within Uruan and the only registered stamps to be used on internal shipping. Mail is handled at Uru city post office, where it is sorted and distributed.

Uru city post office is also responsible for legal distribution and internal trade of Uru.

Foreign relations

On July 29, the Islamic state of Uru and the Empire Huai Siao became allies after a treaty was signed, marking Uru's first alliance.

Military

Uru has no army, but has an existing air force. The airforce includes a 2-seater ultralight, which is used as a passenger transport during peacetime.

Uru has little plans to expand the military, and instead focuses to seek peace to other nations.
