The Roscam Liberation Front, abbreviated to RLF or less commonly R.L.F, was a paramilitary group and the former provisional police force of Roscamistan. The Front was headquartered in the Greater Roscam Province and general Galway area on the Island of Ireland. It was also a front under provincial protection of the Greater Roscam Government from 15 January 2022 to 17 February 2022.

It was lead by the first and last Commander Thomas Jacobs from January 2021 to February 2022. The RLF was the direct precursor of Roscamistan, having founded the nation on 18 February 2021, but was barred from creating a military provisional government.

History

Formation

The RLF was formed in January 2021, by Thomas Jacobs, who at the time, couldn’t imagine what the Liberation Front was going to start, a few Polish from Roscam and neighbouring Doughiska, to help him achieve independence or at least autonomy from the Galway City Council, called tyrannic by the RLF.

Decline

The decline happened in mid February 2021, days before the Republic was declared, the force had went inactive except for Thomas Jacobs and a few others, and on 18 February 2021, in the main playground, from the top of the main climbing frame, Thomas Jacobs declared the Republic of Roscamistan, made of the Regions of Roscam, Dougiska, and Oranmore, thus no longer needing the front as the Republic was now realised.

Revival

The RLF was revived by Paramount Leader Doros Patusky along with the Roscamistan Volunteer Force, as a way of having more provincal militias to delegate a few more powers to the provinces. Patusky also created the Mervustan Militia, with him as the head of it by virtue of being the Governor of Mervustan, and at the time, Evan Irwin, as deputy head by virtue of being the Prime Minister of Mervustan. Thus the RLF was given a new purpose in a different looking Roscamistan.

Designation as a terrorist organization

On 15 January 2022, the Central Government of Roscamistan declared the RLF a terrorist organization. However the devolved administration in Greater Roscam, under the direction of its executive, gave protection to the front in Greater Roscam. This has led to the Central and Greater Roscam Governments being in deadlock over the RLF. The Central Government threatened to suspend the Executive, while the Greater Roscam government threatened to attack Mervustan.

2022 RLF-Greater Roscam war

On 17 February 2022, the RLF attacked the Roscamistan Volunteer Force base near Raymond Jacobs Park, ending provincial protection by the Greater Roscam Executive Council. The 2022 RLF-Greater Roscam war started then, while the very tense February 2022 Roscamistan presidential election was happening. The RLF allied itself with the Ballinfoylish Syndicalist Front. The front was defeated along with the syndicalists on 25 February 2022.

Dissolution

The RLF was dissolved by force on 25 February 2022, with the Supreme Commandership and High Command disbanded. The last head of the High Command, Comrade Leopold O’Donal[e] was sanctioned, and banned from political office. Paramilitaries were also banned.

Previous engagements

War of Independence and Mervustan Conflict

The Liberation Front was the main group battling against the Galway City Council, the main group in the Mervustan Conflict, during the 17thMayCoup. They were lead by Thomas Jacobs and they eventually won war against the Provincial guards of Mervustan, under Kayden Conboy on 21 June 2021. The Irwin regime ended two days later.

Governance

Complications due to paramilitary status

The Roscam Liberation front was a paramilitary group, meaning it was independent of the Roscamistan Defence Forces. It was previously attempted to get control over the front in the Waldron and Patusky administrations in the Ministry of Defence, ultimately failed to.

Command

The Front was commanded by the Supreme Commander, and the High Command Council, which gives orders to the lower officers who in turn gave orders to the troops. The Front also had three directorates, the Internal Directorate, the Directorate of Missions, and the Directorate of Supplies.
