The Roscami War of Independence was a conflict within Galway and Oranmore, which culminated in the declaration of the Republic of Roscamistan. In January 2021, Thomas Jacobs along with a few 12 and 11 year old boys, formed the Roscam Liberation Front, an initially satirical secessionist front dedicated to the end of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions, and also the reforming of Galway City Council. On the 18th of February 2021, Commander Jacobs declared Roscamistan an independent nation. This began Jacobs’ micronational career.
