The Royal Albian Navy is the Kingdom of Albia's naval warfare force.

The professional head of the Navy is the First Sea Lord who ranks as an admiral and is a member of the Defence Council. The Defence Council delegates management of the Naval Service to the Admiralty Board.

History

The Royal Albian Navy was established on 13 June 2022 under the directive of Luke I of Albia.

Role

As the seaborne branch of the Armed Forces of Albia the navy has a variety of roles. Its primary roles include:

  • Intermicronational Partnerships - To Aid Relationships with Allies of the Kingdom
  • Preventing Conflict
  • Maintaining a Readiness to Defend the Kingdom of Albia
  • Providing Humanitarian Aid to the Micronational Community
  • Protecting the Economy - Allowing for Clear Trade Routes between Trading Micronations

Modern Royal Navy

Personnel

All enlisted ratings are required to go through Basic Naval Training and all commissioned officers are required to go through Initial Officer Training. Personnel are divided into a warfare branch based on their chosen military speciality.

Command, Control and Organisation

The titular head of the Royal Albian Navy is the Lord High Admiral, a position which is currently held by Luke I of Albia. The Monarch of Albia is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Albia.

The professional head of the Naval Service is the First Sea Lord, an admiral and member of the Defence Council. The Defence Council delegates management of the Naval Service to the Admiralty Board.

Organisation

The Fleet Commander has responsibility for the provision of ships, submarines and aircraft ready for any operations that the Government requires. Fleet Commander exercises his authority through the Navy Command Headquarters.

Titles and Naming

Of Ships

Albian Navy ships in commission are prefixed with His Majesty's Ship (Her Majesty's Ship), abbreviated to "HMS". Names are allocated to ships and submarines by a naming committee within the MOD and given by class, with the names of ships within a class often being thematic or traditional.

Customs and Traditions

Traditions

The Royal Albian Navy has several formal customs and traditions including the use of ensigns and ships badges.

The Fleet Review is an irregular tradition of assembling the fleet before the monarch.
