The Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces is the military force of the Sovereign Municipality of Ameristralia. The armed forces consist of the Army and Navy. The Lord Mayor of Ameristralia is the commander-in-chief of the defence forces and forms military policy along with the Ministry of Defence. Military policy is primarily carried out by the Ministry.
The Ameristralian Defence Forces is a volunteer-based military force, with a current personnel count of three. Military spending accounts for less than zero per cent of municipal expenditures.
History
The history of the Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces begins on 15 August 2021, by Act of the Municipal Assembly. The military forces were at the time named the Ameristralian Army Navy. The armed forces name was changed to its current form on 21 September 2021, shortly after Ameristralia declared independence from the Commonwealth of Australia and became a sovereign state.
The Defence Forces have not been involved in any conflicts on domestic or foreign soil. It does not engage in military preparedness exercises internally or internationally.
Structure
Command of the Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces is established by Article III of the Ameristralian Constitution, where the Lord Mayor is named "commander-in-chief of the Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces." The Ministry of Defence administers the Defence Forces.
The military chain of command begins with the Lord Mayor to the Minister of Defence. The Ministry of Defences comprises the Royal Ameristralian Army and Royal Ameristralian Navy, overseen by the Chief of General Staff. Their deputy is the Chief of the Defence Staff.
The leadership of the Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces, to include the Lord Mayor, Minister of Defence, Chief of General Staff, and Chief of Defence Staff make up the Ameristralian National Security Council. The council advises the Lord Mayor and Chief Minister on matters of national security, military, and foreign policy matters.
Ranks and insignia
The ranks of Field Marshal and Admiral of the Fleet are reserved for the Lord Mayor of Ameristralia. During wartime, the sovereign may appoint a high ranking officer to the posts until peace is restored.
The ranks of the defence forces are a hydrid of the American and Australian rank systems.
