The Royal Blazdonian Navy (RBN) is a critical component of the Blazdonian Defence Force. It was formed on May 5, 2021, with the goal of safeguarding the territorial integrity and interests of Blazdonia. The RBN is a green-water navy, which means it is capable of operating in coastal and littoral waters, but it is working towards becoming a blue-water navy that can operate on the open ocean.

The RBN is commanded by the Chief of the Navy, who reports to the Minister of Defence. The Chief of the Navy is responsible for the overall strategic and operational direction of the navy, as well as the training and readiness of its personnel. The RBN is composed of several ships and submarines, including destroyers, frigates, corvettes, and patrol vessels. These ships are equipped with a range of weapons and sensors, including missiles, guns, and sonars, that enable them to conduct a variety of missions, such as surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and maritime security.

In addition to its combat role, the RBN also has a humanitarian and disaster relief mandate. The navy has trained personnel and specialized equipment that allow it to respond quickly to natural disasters and other emergency situations. The RBN has also participated in a number of international operations and exercises, which have helped to enhance its capabilities and interoperability with other navies.

Overall, the Royal Blazdonian Navy plays a vital role in the defence and security of Blazdonia. As a green-water navy with plans to become a blue-water force, the RBN is well-positioned to meet the challenges of the modern maritime environment.

The RBN fleet may include a number of different types of ships, each designed to meet specific strategic and operational needs. For example, the fleet may include a destroyer like the HMBS Daring, which is a large and heavily armed warship. Destroyers are equipped with a range of weapons, such as missiles, guns, and torpedoes, as well as advanced sensors, such as radar and sonar. These weapons and sensors enable destroyers to conduct a variety of missions, including air defence, surface warfare, and anti-submarine warfare.

In addition to destroyers, the RBN fleet may also include frigates like the HMBS Valiant. Frigates are smaller and less heavily armed than destroyers, but they are still capable of conducting a variety of missions. They are equipped with weapons such as missiles, guns, and torpedoes, as well as sensors like radar and sonar. Frigates are often used for escort and patrol duties, as well as anti-submarine warfare.

The RBN fleet may also include smaller ships like corvettes, such as the HMBS Guardian. Corvettes are even smaller than frigates, and they are typically used for coastal patrol and surveillance missions. They are equipped with weapons such as guns and missiles, as well as sensors like radar and sonar. Corvettes are often used for maritime security and border patrol operations.

Finally, the RBN fleet may include patrol vessels like the HMBS Protector. These are the smallest ships in the RBN fleet, and they are typically used for coastal patrol and surveillance missions. They are equipped with weapons such as guns and missiles, as well as sensors like radar and sonar. Patrol vessels are often used for enforcing maritime laws and regulations, as well as for search and rescue operations.

Overall, the RBN fleet includes a mix of different types of ships and submarines, each designed to meet specific strategic and operational needs. These ships are equipped with a range of weapons and sensors that enable them to conduct a variety of missions, such as surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and maritime security.

  • HMBS Daring: HMBS Daring is a destroyer in the RBN fleet. Destroyers are the largest and most heavily armed ships in the navy, and HMBS Daring is no exception. It is over 500 feet long and displaces thousands of tons of water. HMBS Daring is equipped with a range of weapons, such as long-range missiles, guns, and torpedoes, as well as advanced sensors, such as radar and sonar. These weapons and sensors enable HMBS Daring to conduct a variety of missions, including air defence, surface warfare, and anti-submarine warfare.
  • HMBS Valiant: HMBS Valiant is a frigate in the RBN fleet. Frigates are smaller than destroyers and are typically used for escort and patrol duties. HMBS Valiant is around 400 feet long and displaces several thousand tons of water. It is equipped with weapons such as missiles, guns, and torpedoes, as well as sensors like radar and sonar.
  • HMBS Guardian: HMBS Guardian is a corvette in the RBN fleet. Corvettes are even smaller than frigates and are typically used for coastal patrol and surveillance missions. HMBS Guardian is around 300 feet long and displaces several hundred tons of water. It is equipped with weapons such as guns and missiles, as well as sensors like radar and sonar.
  • HMBS Protector: HMBS Protector is a patrol vessel in the RBN fleet. Patrol vessels are the smallest ships in the navy and are typically used for coastal patrol and surveillance missions. HMBS Protector is around 100 feet long and displaces several dozen tons of water. It is equipped with weapons such as guns and missiles, as well as sensors like radar and sonar.

Overall, the RBN fleet includes a mix of different types of ships and submarines, each with its own unique capabilities and characteristics. These ships are equipped with a range of weapons and sensors that enable them to conduct a variety of missions, such as surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and maritime security.

Structure

Command structure

The strategic command structure of the RBN was overhauled. The RBN is commanded through Naval Headquarters (NHQ) in Salt Point City. The professional head is the Chief of Navy (CN), who holds the rank of Admiral of the Fleet. NHQ is responsible for implementing policy decisions handed down from the Ministry of Defence and for overseeing tactical and operational issues that are the purview of the subordinate commands.

Beneath NHQ are two subordinate commands:

  • Fleet Command: Fleet command is led by Commander Blazdonian Fleet (COMBLZDFLT). COMBLZDFLT holds the rank of Admiral of the Fleet. The nominated at-sea commander is Commodore Warfare (COMWAR), a one-star deployable task group commander. Fleet command has responsibility to CN for the full command of assigned assets and to Joint Operations Command for the provision of operationally ready forces.
  • Navy Strategic Command: the administrative element overseeing the RBN's training, engineering and logistical support needs.

Fleet Command was previously made up of four Force Commands:

  • Fleet Air Arm, responsible for the navy's aviation assets and capability.
  • Mine Warfare, Clearance Diving, Hydrographic, Meteorological and Patrol Forces, an amalgamation of the previous Patrol Boat, Hydrographic, and Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving Forces, operating what are collectively termed the RBN's "minor war vessels"
  • Submarine Force, (Royal Blazdonian Navy Submarine Service) operating the Cobrins-class submarines
  • Surface Force, covering the RBN's surface combatants (generally ships of frigate size or larger)

Fleet

The Royal Blazdonian Navy consists of 1 commissioned vessels and around 5 personnel.  Ships commissioned into the RBN are given the prefix HMBS (His/Her Majesty's Blazdonian Ship).
