The Royal Fresh Air Force (RFAF) is the Aerial warfare branch of the Armed Forces of Freshland. The RFAF constitutes the latest service branch to be incorporated into Freshland's military force.

History

The Royal Fresh Air Force was founded towards the beginning of 2019 by King Scottie I. The original RFAF's aircraft were rudimentary and played only a minor role during the Fresh Civil War.

Although the RFAF remained largely inactive from late 2019 to late 2020, it underwent an important expansion in January 2021 following orders issued by Scottie I to incorporate remote controlled drones to its fleet.

In February 2021, the RFAF purchased a small drone and later on a larger one, although the latter was soon traded-in in favour of the current aircraft drones which has improved capabilities, including a longer range and a 4K HD camera.

To further expand and diversify its fleet, the RFAF acquired in December 2021 a lighweight fighter. This aircraft went missing during a military training exercise in Dorum in March 2022. A newer improved version of this fighter was incorporated to the RFAF on the first anniversary of the loss of its predecessor.

Aircraft

Presently, the RFAF fleet is made of two drones and one battleplane all of which are remote controlled. The larger drone continues to fly regularly and is in active service, while the smaller one is in a state of inactivity and is in the Fresh Military Reserve Unit as of 2023.

Command Structure and Personnel

The Royal Fresh Air Force is commanded by the Sovereign, Scottie I with the title Commander-in-Chief. The Chief of the Air Staff is the second highest ranking officer – a position held by Warren Sedgwick.
