The Safeguarding and Welfare Officer is a position in the Grand Unified Micronational responsible for the safety of underage delegates and deal with any safeguarding situations that may arise. The position was created on 12 April 2020 in response to the Danosgate scandal. It is the only position in the GUM with an age limit requirement,[a] requiring the holder to be above the age of eighteen.

The first and incumbent Welfare Officer, Queen Cedar of the Triumvirate of Sonderan, was appointed on 20 June 2020.
