Seán III (1992-) Seán Diarmuid mac Tómás Micháel mac Seán mac Tómás Pádraig Ó Catháin or Seán Amádeus (Love of God), of the House of Amádeus-Ó Catháin is the second and present King of Coleraine (Ulaidh Thair Nhua).

Early life

Seán was born near Chicago, United States. He spent the first years of his childhood raised in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. In 1999 his father, then Ard Tánsaite Tómás Micháel mac Séan, moved the family to Kansas where he has resided since.

Founding of Coleraine

Seán was instrumental in founding the Ríocht na hUlaidh Thair Nhua or the Kingdom of Coleraine as it is officially known within the Royal government. The Ríocht was originally founded as an political activist organisation Rígh na hÉireann, or Kingdom of Ireland, which advocated an Irish Kingdom comprising of all the 32 counties of Ireland. Seán, a life long Irish Nationalist, named himself leader of said organisation. On 10 January 2009, Tómás II succeeded his father Seán II who had stepped down after moving into an assisted living residence as is required by the traditional Tánist laws of the Clan Ó Catháin. Seán was now named Ard Tánsaite, his main claim to land, the Barony of Noamh Séamus, was promoted to a Duchy, and Seán was commissioned to work on founding a new Ó Catháin state in the moors of northeastern Kansas. On 21 January 2009 he officially founded the Kingdom of Coleraine, a successor state to the former Ó Catháin Barony of Coleraine in Ulster. He named his father Tómás II of the Ó Catháin as the King of the Colerains, naming himself Crown Prince, promoting his Duchy of Noamh Séamus into an Archduchy and making the title of Archduke of Noamh Séamus the title of the Crown Princes of the Realm. Seán was named Prince Regent so as to have the power to write the Colerainian Constitution and rule in his father's stead as his father worked to stabalise the House of Ó Catháin which still recovers from it's great losses during the wars against Elizabeth I, Oliver and Richard Cromwell, and William III of England from (1580 - 1693) and the Great Anglo-Irish War (1171 - ) which at present is still being fought in the Ó Catháin's old lands in Ulster.

Crowned King of the Colerains

Seán had been Prince Regent since the foundation of the realm. On Holy Tuesday of 2009 he was officially named King of the Colerains. He kept the title of Ard Tánsaite of the Ó Catháin along with his titles of Lord of Dungiven and Dunseverick and Prince of Ulster. Seán's first act as King was to put into law the Charter of Parliament, and the Constitution of Coleraine in the New World. Included in the Constitution were such unprecedented laws such as the allowing of non-Catholics to worship under the protection of the law, which had been illegal since the founding of the House of Ó Catháin in AD 878. Seán also cut out a number of ancient Tánist laws allowing Capital Punishment and Torture including support for Religious Inquisition. Seán also announced on Good Friday of 2009 that he shall seek peace with England after over 800 years of war with hopes of harmony in Ireland and a possible united country. Seán has sworn full loyalty to the Papacy, and maintains the Roman Catholic Church's position within the Tánist Government.

Ancestry of Seán III

Seán III's family has ruled in Europe and North America for over 1000 years. His 13th Great Uncle Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the only Catholic signer of the American Declaration of Independence. His Great-Grandfathers served in both World Wars, and Korea for the United States.

His mother's line traces itself back to the first Duke of Normandy Rollo the Viking, and to a line of Romano-British nobles. They also have a claim to land in Wales. The Maternal line is known as the House of Aberffraw-Normandy, of the Plantagenet Dynasty.

Through Charlemange's line he is directly descended from the Gallo-Roman Consul, Flavius Afranius Syagrius (born c. 345), who also served Imperial Rome as Prefect of the City of Rome, Proconsul of Africa, and the Praetorian Prefect of Italy.

Personal life

Seán is a very private person, living on his family's estate in Kansas. He owns four horses, three dogs, and three cats named Crookshanks, Franz Leopold, and Kitty.
