The Borough of Sisypheia (Hellenic: Ϝάστυ Σισυφεῖας, romanised: Wásty Sisyfías, pronounced: [ˈwasti si.siˈfiː.as]) is one of the ten boroughs of Græcia, the second-level administrative divisions of the micronation, and the legislative and judicial capital of Græcia. It was formed in March 2021 AD, located in a neighborhood of Corinth, Corinthia, Peloponnese, Hellas.

Name

The Borough of Sisypheia was named in honour of Sisyphos, the mythical founder and king of Ephyra. For the sake of brevity, the Borough is referred to as Sisypheia (Hellenic: Σισυφεῖα, Sisyfĩa [si.siˈfiː.a]).

History

The Borough of Sisypheia was formed on 10 March 2021 AD, alongside the boroughs of Perusia, Sarajbosna, and Vathy.

Economy

The Borough of Sisypheia depends exclusively on local consumption. The borough's area of influence includes cafés, a couple of taverns, a few mini markets, etc.

Geography

The Borough of Sisypheia is located entirely within a neighborhood of the city of Corinth, on an elevated portion. Its area of influence covers the entirety of said neighborhood, as well as portions of neighboring ones.

Religion

All of the people living in the Voivodeship are Greek Orthodox Christians, while there is a minority of seasonal workers who are muslims. The patron saint of the voivodeship is Saint George, whose feast is celebrated on 23 April. In case this date occurs before Easter, the feast gets moved and is celebrated on Easter Monday.

Language

The official language of the Borough is Hellenic, which is used for official documents, as well as everyday things. There is a minority of Arvanites who speak Arvanitika; therefore, it is a recognised and protected minority language within the Borough. Although not recognised, Albanian is a spoken immigrant language.
