The Slavtrian language (яСлаватрі, tr yaSlavatri) is a constructed language created by the government and citizens of Slavtria. It comes from the Ukrainian language, with a similar alphabet and the same script, and is an SVO language. It is regulated by the Regulation Institute for the Slavtrian Language (RISL), an institute of the University of Kietgrad.
Old Slavtrian
Old Slavtrian was the first version of Slavtrian, being made in early-May 2021. It was confusing for the speakers, for example: Republic of Slavtria in Old Slavtrian was "Спгэщиу Йеяахвож", which - if using proper pronunciation of letters in the Cyrillic script - would be pronounced as "Spgešiu Yeiakhvozh". Also, Slavtrian was "Спгэщиун". Old Slavtrian was abandoned in mid-2022, and the reason was confusion with the language.
New Slavtrian
New Slavtrian, commonly known as just Slavtrian, is the 2nd version of Slavtrian, replacing Old Slavtrian on 21 August 2022. It comes from the Ukranian language and alphabet, and has many similar words, spellings, and pronunciations. This means that Slavtrian now makes a lot more sense, for example, Republic of Slavtria is now "Славатрі Респаблік", pronounced as "Slavatri Respablik", and Slavtrian (the language, not the people[a]) is now "яСлаватрі", pronounced as "yaSlavatri". The "я" in "яСлаватрі" is short for "язик", the Slavtrian word for language. Because of Slavtrian grammar rules, the full version of "яСлаватрі" is "Славатрі язик", which translates to Slavtrian language.
Unlike other Slavic languages, such as Russian and Ukrainian, Slavtrian uses quotation marks instead of guillemets.[b]
