The Democratic Republic of Subejia (Malay: Republik Demokratik Subejia), most commonly known as Subejia, is a micronation located in Malaysia. It was established in the residential area[a] alongside the river called Klang River. It is enclaves within Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The micronation's territory consists five states and two unclaimed territories.

Subejia fictionally founded in the early 19th century in the Peninsular Malaysia. After the Second World War, Raja Sasuke re-established Subejia. For almost fifty years Raja Sasuke reigned, the provisional government was formed. Around the year 2020, the Democratic Kingdom of Subejia was formed, later, the Civil War occured. After the civil war, Subejia unilaterally declared its independence on 28 February 2021, while the Democratic Kingdom dissolved.

Subejia is a federal parliamentary republic based on the Westminster system of bicameral parliamentary government. Although Subejia has a multi-party democracy, with the free elections, the Socialist Malay Party of Subejia wields significant dominance over politics and society, since the first presidential election. The President is the head of state, while the Prime Minister is the head of government.

Subejia is a founding member of the Southeast Asian Micronational Association (SEAMA) and Southeast Asian Micronations Games Federation (SEAMGF), a member of the Micronational Olympic Federation and former observer of the Grand Unified Micronational.[b]

Etymology

The name "Subejia" is a combination of Subejo and the Latin-Greek suffix "-ia"/"ία" which can be translated as "land of the Subejo".

Subejia originally called the Federation of Subejo. Before it was became a micronation, it was a village called Kampong Subejo. Some legends from Subejia said that Subejia's name came from the village hero called Ucok Subejo.[c]

History

Prehistoric era

The Ant's Kingdom Wall, a wall that was believed built by the ants.

Ants has made its colony at Subejia. It was believed that the ants built the wall called The Ant's Kingdom Wall. Fictionally, the ants made an agreement between Al-Putra Badawitir, founder of Kampong Subejo. After that, the ants moved its colonies to other places.

Early 19th century

The first king of Subejo, Sultan Al-Badir ibn Almahrum Sultan Subejia Pertama Al-Putra Badawitir founded Subejo fictionally. In Subejia, it was believed that there is 0.98% Javanese live in Subejia before World War II started. Ucok Subejo, who is a hero of Subejia, was awarded a medal by Al-Putra Badawitir. Al-Putra Badawitir named Kampong Subejo after Ucok Subejo posthumously. Prior to World War II, there is a conflict between Sultans and thus, all Sultans was dead, marking the start of the monarchy crisis.

World War II and Sasuke era

During the Japanese occupation, some Japanese colonies that live in Subejia are "friendly". Sarake Tsukasa, most commonly known as Raja Sasuke,[d] also occupied Subejia.

After World War II was ended, Raja Sasuke did not wanted to go back to his homeland, Japan. It was because he wanted reigned Subejia until his death. He reigned as the King of Subejia for 50 years. On 18 March 1989, Raja Sasuke died because of "old sick".

Reform and modern era (2020–present)

Azwariq Qadri, reincarnated Subejia and became king after the death of Raja Sasuke, in which, was inspired from his imagination idea. He reformed Subejia since he listened that his teacher said:[e]

His teacher make his inspiration for him and became a reality.[f]

During this time, COVID-19 pandemic gave impact on Subejia and its economy. At this time, many controversies was found out, such as, Subejian Civil War, conflict with Princess Shamie and many more.[g]

Azwariq Qadri held the third presidential election and became president. After that, on 28 February 2021, Subejia restored its independence and established Malaysian Weeb Association.[h]

During the fourth presidential election, Tan Sri Kennedy take the place and won the election but then he resigned before became president of Subejia. Election Commission of Subejia held the fifth presidential election and Azwariq Qadri became president again. Subejia also declared the war on Nabilia and known as Operation The End.

On 18 December 2021, all Subejian states has been inundated.[1] Thus, the president himself declared the New Economic Policy on 8 January 2022.[2]

Subejia held the 2022 Subejian presidential election as the last year was not "nationwide". After the election, Azwariq Qadri won the election, defeating Shahibullah twice. President Azwariq has issued three Presidential Proclamation for nationsleep and oath of office for Azwariq Qadri's de facto second term. However, it was later postponed and currently, the micronation is inactivity.

Government and politics

Subejia is a federal parliamentary republic based on Westminster system. Similar to some macronations, including Singapore. Subejia's government is run in three branches. Each of these branches oversee a separate part of the Subejian Government, ensuring the separation of powers.

The executive branch consists of the President, Vice President and the Cabinet. Each cabinet run a specific section of the Subejian executive. These include Prime Minister and several others. The incumbent President is Azwariq Qadri and the incumbent Vice President is Mohd Salleh.

The legislative branch consists of the Parliament, in which consists the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara. The nine members of the Dewan Rakyat is elected from single-member counties or states. Parliament has a maximum mandate of five years by law. The Parliament will be dissolved if the President declared by Presidential Proclamation or the Prime Minister's requesting to the President.

The judicial branch consists of the Supreme Court of Subejia, in which located in Subejia City, Bandar Diraja and Taqima. The states of the Democratic Republic of Subejia also had its own Supreme Court, in which differs the federal power in Subejia.

Administrative divisions

Subejia is divided into five states. Each states had at least two counties, except Bandar Diraja. Plus, Subejia City, Bandar Diraja and Bandar Paklang are city-states. States also administrated by governor or "mayor". The states are admitted through two-thirds majority of Parliament. These states are:

Foreign relations and military

The Southeast Asian Micronational Association had influenced by the Democratic Republic of Subejia.

A founding member of the Southeast Asian Micronational Association (SEAMA) and the Southeast Asian Micronations Games Federation (SEAMGF), Subejia participated in many micronational organisation such as the Grand Unified Micronational (GUM).

Subejia is almost the peaceful micronation in the Southeast Asia, in which, Subejia has involved in many conflicts, such as the Civil War and the Operation The End.

Formerly, Subejia was a part of the Grand Unified Micronational as observer, later provisional member and returned to observership. In 2023, Subejia withdrawn from the Grand Unified Micronational after the controversy spread around in the GUM's Discord server. Subejia was formerly interested in joining the Cupertino Alliance (CA), but later withdrawn its membership application due to controversy involving transphobic remarks made by its leader.

The Subejian Armed Forces consists two branches, which is Subejian Army, formerly known as Subejian Royal Army, and Subejian Navy. Although Subejia never claims any water territory, in which excluding Klang River, the Subejian Navy exists for land supplies for the Subejian Army.

Human rights

Homosexuality is illegal in Subejia, although it never impose any punishment. Subejia was getting "cancelled" after the homophobic and transphobic remarks made by its leader. After the incident, President Azwariq allows the LGBT community to come into the Democratic Republic of Subejia's Discord server.

Geography

The geography of Subejia is characterised by the huge Klang Valley.

Located in the centre of Kuala Lumpur, Subejia was a territory of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. In 2020, Subejia liberated from both Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia.

Climate and weather

Floods that happened in Subejia.

Floods are frequent in Subejia after heavy downpours, especially in the city centre, because irrigation structure lags behind the intense development in the city.[3] Smoke from forest fires in nearby Sumatra sometimes casts a haze over the region, and is a major source of pollution, along with open burning, motor vehicle emissions, and construction.[4]

Culture

Subejia has a multi-ethnic, multicultural, and multilingual society. The original culture of the area stemmed from indigenous tribes that inhabited it, along with the Malays who later moved there.

  7. Subejia has many conflict because of its independence and declaring war on Taqim Union (and even though Taqim Union did not exist).
  8. Malaysian Weeb Association is unofficially unrecognised non-government organization in Subejia and was dissolved during post-de facto dissolution of Subejia.
