Summit Day was a Poplar Nervan holiday occuring every year on 13 August. It celebrated the success of Premier Jack reaching Everest Base Camp in 2019 at around 15:00 local time, and reflected the high ambitions of both Essexia and Poplar Nerva.

The holiday was treated as the equivalent of a Bank Holiday, whereupon places of work may choose the close for the day with no Government repercussions., however Emergency Services and Places of Education were required to remain open and staffed.

History

Summit Day celebrated the ascension of then-Premier Jack to Everest Base Camp on the 13th August 2019. It was celebrated every year in recognition of Poplar Nerva's progress and ambition, it's potential and ability.

Despite its description and prominence as Poplar Nerva's only recognised holiday, the occasion was rarely very publicised nor significantly celebrated. The event was never recorded by The Nervan Guardian, and no other micronations ever congratulated Poplar Nerva on this day. It was mostly seen as a political power play by the Poplar Republican Party to instill national confidence and build a culture.
