The Groz (symbol: /≈) is the currency of the Lake Superior Region. It was originally created in 2022 to replace smaller colonial currencies in the region.

Etymology

The name "Groz" is from a subdivision of the dukesmark. The penny is from the British pound.

History

It was originally created in 2022 to replace smaller colonial currencies in the region. Combining all of the regions colonial issues except for the Esreb Colony thaler, the Bailey Island Crown, and Marquetten Lighthouse Board issue dukesmarks.

Coins

The coins of the groz currently only exist legally as the Grand Duchy of Marquette currently does not have the means to create coins. The coins are planned to have locally issued versions, much like the euro.

Low-denomination coins

the ½p, 2p, 3p coins were initially produced to aid in the conversion of local currencies (or even from Dukesmarks) though in some cases colonies only produce a very small number of them for coin sets while otherwise practicing Scandinavian rounding.

Banknotes

groz notes are manufactured with a laser printer.
