Her Majesty Tanishkaa Patranabish (Hindi: तनिष्का पत्रनाबिश, Bengali: তানিষ্কা পত্রনবিশ, born 17 April 2004) is a Vishwamitran royal and former politician who served as the first Rashtradhyaksh following the nation's transition to a monarchy in June 2020 until her abdication on 29 July 2020. Tanishkaa is one of the three founding members of Vishwamitra alongside Arnisha Phatowali and Dhrubajyoti Roy who went on to become the first and second National Leader. She became the first Vice-President and Minister of Finance on 15 April 2007 and remained as such until 31 December 2009. She served as the President on several occasions and is the second-longest serving head of state of the nation. She became the Prime Minister of Vishwamitra for the first time in 2015, and served seven terms in office between 2017 and 2020.

Tanishkaa was named as the 3rd National Leader and Executive President on 14 April 2020 designating her to officially succeed Dhrubajyoti Roy with effect from 1 May 2020. She formally took over the reins on the decided date, however within months of her presidency, the Council of State headed by her predecessor Dhrubajyoti Roy met on 2 June and proclaimed that the nation shall transition into a federal elective absolute monarchy on 8 June 2020. Following consensus from among the other members of the council, she was named to serve as the first Rashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra and took over on 8 June alongside being named as the provincial monarch for Beltola. Her reign as the federal monarch lasted for about two months until she chose to abdicate on 29 July and was succeeded by Dhrubajyoti Roy as the Rashtradhyaksh, who in recognition to her invaluable services announced that she shall be appointed to the position of the Sah-Rashtradhyaksh which shall be a co-equal position to the Rashtradhyaksh. On 31 December 2020, her position of Sah-Rashtradhyaksh was abolished and she was named as the Uparashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra with the same status and rank of a deputy head of state.

Early and personal life

Tanishkaa Patranabish was born on 17 April 2004 in India. She is the elder child of her parents- Prince Father Patranabish and Princess Lipi. She is the sister of Princess Anoushkaa, a former Prime Minister of Vishwamitra and is also the paternal cousin of Dhrubajyoti Roy. Among other of her cousins include Princess Asmi, Prince Abhirup, and Princess Sarala. From her child, she was interested in dance and later pursued professional dance course in Kathak, however had to quit dancing in order to focus on her education. She is currently pursuing her higher secondary education.

Micronational career

Tanishkaa Patranabish is one of the three signatories of the foundation document of the erstwhile Children’s Group. Upon the establishment of the Children's Group, she was appointed to serve as the first Vice President and was in office from 15 April 2007 until 31 December 2009. During her tenure as Vice President, she had also served as a Cabinet Minister in the Council of Ministers with the responsibilities of Ministry of Finance and Education.

She was unanimously elected President after incumbent President Dhrubajyoti Roy stepped down to become the Prime Minister and National Leader. As President, she was also entrusted with the duties of Cabinet Minister for Finance and Sports.

She had stepped down as President in July 2012 and became a Cabinet Minister in the Council of Ministers. This time, she was removed from the Ministry of Finance to induct newcomer Sarala Baishya in her place and was appointed as Cabinet Minister for Sports. She was reluctant to assume duties as Cabinet Minister for Sports and demanded some other ministry, eventually, she was appointed to the Ministry of Education.

In May 2014 general elections, that were held after then Prime Minister Dhrubajyoti Roy decided to step up and new successor was supposed to be chosen. There was a direct contest between her and Sarala Baishya. In the elections, Sarala Baishya won and she then became the Leader of Opposition. With the sudden resignation of Sarala Baishya in December 2014, she became the considered candidate for the office of Prime Minister, but her appointment was delayed by the outgoing Prime Minister, as she was also the President.

In February 2015, she was elected as Prime Minister for the first term and remained in power until the constitutional changes of December 2015.

Following the constitutional changes, the office of Chief Justice was established and she was appointed to the top constitutional position as the state’s first Chief Justice and remained in office until winning the 2016 March presidential elections.

Tanishkaa Patranabish was elected as President in March 2016, defeating incumbent President Dhrubajyoti Roy with a huge difference. She was re-elected to the office in May 2016 again. During her tenure as President, she served as the Speaker of Parliament.

Upon stepping down from the presidency in October 2016, she was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and was entrusted with the portfolios of Minister of Finance, Salaries, Law and Justice and eventually the Ministry of Home Affairs. She was again appointed as Deputy Prime Minister in December 2016, with the portfolios of Ministry of Home Affairs, Social Justice and All Party Affairs. In January 2017, she was made the President of the Friends Society Secular Party and continued to lead the party until its merger with the Friends Societal Congress in 2019. In February 2017, she was dismissed from the Union Cabinet by then Prime Minister Dhrubajyoti Roy and she revolted against his joining the Friends Society Independent Party. In April 2017, when the Friends Society Independent Party Leader Sarala Baishya became Prime Minister, it broke the alliance with Friends Society Secular Party and joined hands with the opposition party, the Freedom Party. Subsequent, she was forced to sit in the opposition benches as the Leader of Opposition.

Following the hung verdict in the July 2017 general elections, President Dhrubajyoti Roy suggested all the three parties to form a unity government to be led by the Leader of the single largest party. Eventually, as the Friends Society Secular Party had won 15 out of the 30 seats in the Parliament, its leader Tanishkaa Patranabish became the Prime Minister and led the unity government. But the government was short-lived, and she resigned as Prime Minister in December 2017 and was succeeded by Dhrubajyoti Roy. She became a Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the new cabinet.

Following the constitutional coup in May 2018, she was appointed as the President of the Council of Ministers by Supreme Leader Dhrubajyoti Roy and was in office until the Supreme Leader was forced to resign by the Supreme Court.

Dhrubajyoti Roy was appointed as the President, while she was appointed as the Speaker of the Parliament.

In the 2018 presidential election, she contested against the incumbent President Dhrubajyoti Roy, but faced a defeat in the elections. Soon after winning the elections, Roy announced that the Office of the Prime Minister shall be re-established for accommodating his rival candidate Tanishkaa Patranabish and was eventually sworn-in as Prime Minister on 07th January 2019.

Soon after taking oath as Prime Minister, she announced that she will work hard to serve the nation under the able leadership of her President Dhrubajyoti Roy. She appointed a 15-member Cabinet and accommodated Former President Sarala Baishya as a Cabinet Minister, which was deeply condemned by the opposition.[citation needed]

Eventually, Sarala Baishya and five other her associates broke from the Friends Societal Congress and established the Independent Party leading to Tanishkaa Patranabish submitting her resignation and the President announced a new election.

On 17 March 2019, Tanishkaa Patranabish led the Friends Societal Congress to victory winning 18 out of the 28 seats in the Parliament, while the opposition Independent Party won just 10 seats. She was sworn-in again as the Prime Minister thereafter.

In August 2019, President Dhrubajyoti Roy through an ordinance announced that the strength of the Parliament shall be increased from 28 to 32, and for which a by-election was necessary. This was a high battle of prestige for Tanishkaa Patranabish and her cabinet. Eventually, the FSC won 3 out of the 4 new seats, increasing their tally from 18 to 21, ushering a full majority in the Parliament. This was for the first time after the 2016 General Elections that any party had single-handedly received a majority.

In the March 2020 Elections, she again led the National People's Congress to a victory, defeating her rival candidate Sarala Baishya.

In May 2019, then-President Dhrubajyoti Roy had expressed his desire to step down ending his ten-year rule as the Leader and Guide of the Nation, incapacity since 2010. But it was during the meeting of the Central Committee held in October 2019, that his offer was rejected and he was asked to continue as the Head of State for life.

In February 2020, Dhrubajyoti Roy, who was also the First Secretary of the National People's Congress, announced he's stepping down from the position and that Tanishkaa Patranabish would succeed him.

In April 2020, three days before resigning as the President, Dhrubajyoti Roy removed Tanishkaa Patranabish as the General Secretary of the NPC and re-assumed the office. He had also removed her from the line of succession of the Supreme Leader. But on 13 April 2020, through an official communique from the Presidential Office, he announced his resignation and that Tanishkaa Patranabish shall become the Executive President from 1 May 2020.

On 3 May 2020, the Council of State voted for the new President and Tanishkaa Patranabish was elected to the office. But it was only a month into the new office, the country voted for a new system of government and she was elected as the first Monarch of the newly established monarchy.

On 8 June 2020, she assumed the duties of the Rashtradhyaksh and appointed Dhrubajyoti Roy as the Co-Head of State. But she suddenly resigned on 29th July 2020, paving way for Dhrubajyoti Roy to again become the Head of State. She was then elected as the ceremonial Co-Head of State with additional responsibilities of the Speaker of the Parliament and the Chief Justice.
