The Theocracy of the Northern Plains, sometimes known as TNP, was a micronation in Minnesota,United States created by Augustine M. in a forest near his home. The state held Christian values, but allowed anyone without judgement, including all races, genders, and sexualities. Despite being a micronation, the Northern Plains claimed to not hold any secessionist goals and abided by local authorities.

The Northern Plains had an Archduchy-inspired type government in which the leader was the Grandduke, given in will by the current Grandduke, who appointed dukes and advisors.

Etymology

The Theocracy of the Northern Plains was labeled after the Great Plains residing in the Midwest and subjectively south. Northern additionally due to being in Minnesota, one of the most north-ward states in the United States.

History

The Theocracy of the Northern Plains was named by its founder and the flag was formally created on 20 June 2021. On 21 June, a Microwiki page was created and TNP was officially founded.

On 12 July 2021, Grandduke Augustine declared that the Northern Plains will be dissolved as he was concerned about safety and activity, however, approximately 17 minutes later he would override the previous statements. A month later, Augustine would permanently dissolve the Northern Plains.

Politics and government

The Grandduke had all power to mend the theocracy at will. The next Grandduke would be chosen by the will of the previous Grandduke. There were a number of dukes as determined by the Grandduke to run certain tasks in the Theocracy. There was also an Assistant Grandduke chosen by the Grandduke to assist in any way necessary.

Foreign relations

The Northern Plains was a part of the Micronational Assembly before its dissolution.

Military

The Northern Plains had no military, and claimed to not have any intention to engage in hostilities with other nations.

Geography and climate

Being in the cold, yet sometimes hot Minnesota, the Northern Plains experienced temperatures from -40F to 105. The Northern Plains was almost entirely a forest with many trees and ferns. Deer nearby to the claim would sometimes enter the forest.

Culture

The Grandduke would be the most influential figure of Northern Plains culture, enjoying many movies including musicals, action, and most often comedy. There were plans for virtual movie nights on the Northern Plains Discord before it's dissolution.

Flag

The first official flag of the Northern Plains was designed by Augustine M. with assistance from then current Governor-General of West Canada, Connor Shaw. The dark green represents the hard period in the Old Testament, the lighter green represents the time after Jesus, and the purple-blue stripe represents the future grace of God after the Second Coming.
