Thomas Peter Jacobs[a] is a South African-Irish micronationalist, political theorist, journalist, micronational diplomat and history enthusiast who has served as the President of Roscamistan several times in its history, and is a co-founder of the nation. Jacobs is also involved in several other micronations and roles, currently serving as President of the Free State and Provincial Governor of the Cortés Islands in Östruck, Regent of Dungailliamh, co-owner of an Invictus company in Excelsior, Generalissimo of the National Army of Melite, a member of the Supreme Directorate for the Ergatists, President of the Socialist Republic in East Galway and many more roles. He also currently the leader of Roscamistan’s largest Party United Front, and is a member of multiple parties in other nations.
Described by many as a firm believer in Conservativism, Natioalism, and Catholicism, Jacobs has been an influential figure in the Roman Catholic portion of the MicroWiki Community, and has been responsible for the introduction of Catholicism as the state religion of multiple micronations, as well as serving in the office of Commissioner of the International Catholic League.
Jacobs’ politics are right-wing to far-right, consisting of national conservatism, anti-capitalism, traditionalism, ultranationalism, Irish Unity, Pan-Celticism (Pan-Cheilteachas), Third Position, and Distributist.
Early life
Jacobs was born in 2008, in Galway, Ireland. He lived first in the suburb of Renmore, and later to the east of Galway, where he currently lives.
Micronationalism
Roscamistan
Jacobs’ first micronation, Roscamistan was founded in February 2021 with his friend Culann Burke, which would later on become an influential nation in the future Galway Sector. Jacobs made himself President and Burke his Vice President. He has developed Roscamistan more than any other President, having created most of the institutions and acts in the nation.
He has seen four Vice Presidents under his three terms as President. Adam Flannery, Ludwig Collins, Ali Farrokhzad, and Culann Burke have all served under Jacobs, with Collins as his current.
Ballinfoyleburg
Jacobs has been involved with Ballinfoyleburg since its foundation by his friend Ludwig Collins and friend of Collins Sean Mulryan. Jacobs has been influential in the nation, overseeing the Flight of Mulryan, the first presidency of Ludwig Collins, the beginning of the Collins dynasty in politics, and the Vice Presidency of Jan Kotoński.
In March 2022, Jacobs ran for President in the 2022 presidential election on the 24th that month, he had come in first place with over 57 percent of the total vote. After his inauguration, he introduced a semi-presidential system into the nation, creating former President Collins the Chancellor of the Republic and later his sister May Collins as Vice-Chancellor of the Republic.
After a drawn out period of inactivity, Jacobs alongside Chancellor Collins and Vice President Kotoński agreed to the disestablishment of the Republic in favour of a new federal Commonwealth. The Transition to the Commonwealth Act was passed by the National Assembly, which dissolved it and the entire national government and its provinces into the Provisional Ruling Council. Made up of 4 members, Jacobs would then take office as the Council Chairman, ruling from 30 May to 1 June 2022.
After the end of the Council, the new federal Government of Ballinfoyleburg was proclaimed. After leaving the office of Chairman he became the 1st Vice President of Ballinfoyleburg and the 3rd Vice President overall. The nation would also revert to the presidential system, placing former chancellor Collins as Head of State and Government as the President of the Commonwealth. He would also become Governor of North Galway.
On 26 July 2022, Jacobs would resign as Vice President to focus on his place on the Federal Supreme Court as the Chief Justice.
In November 2022, Jacobs’ party Ballinfoyleburg First won five out of seven seats in the Federal Assembly, removing Fatherland Front as the dominant party.
East Galway
Alongside of a small group of students in his school, Jacobs founded the East Galway Soviet, a council of students dedicated to socialist beliefs on 7 September 2021. Jan Kotoński, himself and Ludwig Collins would be made Chairman, Vice Chairman, and General Secretary respectively. On the 7th of January 2022, Jacobs and the other higher members of the Soviet declared the East Galway Commune, a quasi-stateless entity headed by the a chairman and later premier of the commune, Jan Kotoński. A People’s Assembly was created to serve as the legislative body in the commune, with Jacobs placed as its chairman and head of the assembly’s presidium, in effect Jacobs had become a supreme legislator.
From late February to April 2022, the commune saw a heavy decline in activity and decline of Kotoński’s Premiership in general. To combat this, the People’s Executive began to reform the commune, planning to create a fully functional parliamentary socialist republic to replace the quasi-stateless socialist commune. The People’s Executive renamed itself to the Cabinet of Ministers, a Presidency was created to be the head of state, the head of the Free People’s Army being transferred to the Presidency, and a new House of Representatives replacing the People’s Assembly.
In July 2022, President Collins and Vice-Premier Jacobs performed a constitutional coup, replacing one another in each other’s roles, and in September 2022, Jacobs founded the East Galwegian Blue-Shirt Movement, replacing the Party of Labour and Iron as the dominant party.
In December 2022 he successfully created and passed two acts which allowed the Cabinet of Ministers to hold referendums and the second act annexing Jordans Island and Moycullen, East Galway as territories.[1]
Pinang
Jacobs joined the Pinangese Republic discord server on 2 February 2022, soon after gaining citizenship in the nation. Jacobs would join the People’s Democracy party. Though failing to gain a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, he was appointed a Senator from Larvotto in March 2022, and would become Chairman of the Senate, the presiding officer and first in line to the presidency.
In July 2022, Jacobs would leave the Senate after winning a seat in the Chamber of Deputies for the National Union Party (NUP). He would also form the satirical syncretic Megatron Party as well, which gained two senators and two deputies before it was banned a day later by the ruling NUP Government for supposedly being fascist despite the economic liberalism of its founder.
In October 2022, the NUP Government under Rafe Burfield lost the October 2022 Chamber of Deputies election to the Progressive Bloc. Burfield was replaced in his role as Prime Minister of Pinang by Daniel Quintero on 1 November. In the November 2022 general election, Jacobs ran under the NUP for President of the Republic and for an elected Senate seat. Though he lost the presidential election to Rafaela Luiz, he did win a seat to the Senate, returning to the upper house of the Parliament.
In December 2022, Prime Minister Quintero resigned, and a unity government under Esty Carpentieri. Furious at not being let into the Government by its left-wing members. Jacobs then resigned from the NUP, seeing them as bending over backwards for the left wing. He would stay an independent until 17 December 2022, when he formed Forward Pinang with Andrew Perdomo. He then became leader of the opposition.
In January 2023, he was re-elected Chairman of the Senate, after the removal of Chairman Perdomo for inactivity.
Other nations
Jacobs has been a citizen of Excelsior since March 2022, and has served in many positions. Jacobs currently serves as Secretary of Foreign Affairs, a Member of the Federal Assembly, head of the subjugated territories of Invictus, and formerly acting Premier-General of Excelsior. He is also currently Governor of the Cortes Islands in the Empire of Östruck.
Personal life
Jacobs lives in Galway, Ireland with his family, with his father Shaun Jacobs serving as a micronational politician in Roscamistan. He is currently a second year student in secondary school. His hobbies include reading, writing, history, politics, Thai boxing and going to the gym. He is also a member of Scouting Ireland.
Political views
Jacobs identifies as a National Conservative, a Republican, a Traditionalist, an Anti-Communist, a Third Positionist, Corporatism, an Ultranationalist and a Theocrat.
In the past Jacobs has supported and endorsed economic systems on both sides of the political spectrum, including Socialism and Capitalism. He is the founder of Galwegian Socialism, and has also endorsed free-market capitalism too. In January 2023 he became disenchanted with the concept of Capitalism, whilst remaining anti-Socialist, and has identified himself with Corporatism, and also with Neo-Fascist economics.
Irish politics
He is an supporter of both the far-right Irish National Party and the right wing Human Dignity Alliance, and has considered joining the youth wing of the former in the past. He supports both due to his dismay at the major parties, especially the Green Party and Fine Gael.
Religious views
Jacobs is a Roman Catholic, and completed his Catholic confirmation in September 2021. His views on religion often collide with his political views, and has shown himself to be a firm believer that the Catholic Church is the one true church, much to the dismay of his Orthodox and Protestant colleagues. His first micronation, Roscamistan, has been a Catholic state since its foundation.
Jacobs is also a firm believer in state religion, and has defended the status of Catholicism as the state religion of Roscamistan from opposition parties through 2022 and 2023.
Diplomacy
Jacobs is notable for him being the current and former foreign minister of multiple micronations. He served as Foreign Secretary in both Roscamistan and Excelsior, and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of East Galway and Ballinfoyleburg. He has signed most treaties between Roscamistan and other micronations, and serves as the nation’s foremost diplomat.
Ethnicity
Jacobs is ethnically Irish through his mother, and English, Scottish, and Normano-French through his father. Through his father’s maternal side, he is descended from the Clan Mackintosh.
Controversies

Jacobs is noted often for his controversial and often "extreme" rhetoric in politics, leading political opponents to deem him unfit for office, an extremist or a fascist. He is extremely controversial in his own home nation of Roscamistan, known for his informal and authoritative nature as the President, using his office and other offices held by him to advance his party’s, allies’ and own agenda through the branches of government, often leading to charges of being a dictator and silencing opposition parties, especially during the campaigning for the 4th chamber election. People on the left in numerous nations have deemed him extreme and unable to work with, and the right deems him a loose cannon.
Feuds
Jacobs has also feuded with multiple micronationalists, including Esty Carpentieri, Liam Alexander, and others. In politics he also feuds with rightist & leftist parties and groups, specifically against the left-leaning Democratic Action - The People’s Movement.
Quotes
There may not be many things a teenager can do, but if you are able to do something as a teenager, do it well.
— Thomas Jacobs, November 2022
Though your mental health isn’t great rn, your value doesn’t depend on others who don’t see your worth. Your value comes from you.
— Thomas Jacobs to Esty Carpentieri
He is a good man, and not an eejit.
— Thomas Jacobs in reference to Michael D. Higgins
You aren’t. You really aren’t. You’re a kind-hearted person, who just played in the dark too much. It’s like that one Tupac Shakur speech, in that he said many kids have big and kind hearts, and that playing in the dark hurts that.
— Thomas Jacobs to Saleh H.
