Willemstadt was founded on 10 February 2020 by the Second Russian Empire in an attempt to colonize the region. When the Empire disbanded, the city of Willemstadt came under the rule of the Cosminian Empire (Second German Empire at the time). As part of the Treaty of Willemstadt, signed by the Cosminian Empire and the Kingdom of Ranzania, the city was gifted to Ranzania and recieved the title of treaty port.
