UCETL (reformed)

The Union for the Claims of Extra-Terrestrial Land (UCETL), also known as Planasia (known as the Planasian Union until the 4th August 2012) is the organisation that maps out, organises and recognises micronational claims to space. It has been described as an "AMU for space".

History

The Union for the Claims of Extra-Terrestrial Land was created in August 2011 by the founder (and current King of) the Domanglian nation, Urokah Pikollosserki, to stop disputes and wars over micronational claims to land in space and to make sure a micronation's space claim is recognised by other micronations. It is often described as an "AMU for space". H owever, it fell into inactivity in late 2011 - early 2012 before being reformed by Urokah, Deniz of Pavlov and Vidhur on the 4th August 2012. The UCETL make their claims to space because the signatories of the Outer Space Treaty (the treaty banning nations from claiming space) do not recognise the independence of the members of the UCETL, and also because the member-states of the UCETL have not signed or agreed with the Outer Space Treaty and therefore do not need to go by it.

In 2013, Vidhur reformed the UCETL yet again to attempt to bring extraterrestrial claims back into mainstream micronationalism.
