The United Future Party was a political party active in Mercia which formed on the 1st of September, 2016 after the collapse of the PDP, formed by ex-PDP members Hugh McFarlane and Brandon Wu. The party advocates for the people to rule Mercia, but that the state can step in if necessary. Mercia fell into inactivity, as of July 2017, with the UFP also becoming inactive, and eventually becoming defunct.

History

On the 1st of September, 2016, a VoNC was started against former People's Democratic Party leader Alejandro Whyatt. It passed and he also announced that he would be leaving Mercian politics. Hugh McFarlane became de facto leader of the party and he motioned a vote to disband the PDP, which unanimously passed. Afterwards, the UFP was formed with all former PDP members, except for William Harland and Alejandro Whyatt. The UFP was not created as a successor to the PDP, rather it was developed as a new party with different ideals than the PDP. They are currently in a coalition with the GSP and NLP against the Loyal Opposition of two Independents.

Currently, Mercia has fallen into a state of inactivity, with all former MP's representing the UFP becoming inactive as well. Therefore, the UFP has become effectively defunct.
