The United States of the Rocky Mountains, also known as the USRM, is a micronation completely surrounded by the United States, founded by McKay C and his brother, and his headquartered at his home within the US state of Utah. The USRM is a sovereign independent nation, but is largely considered a fifth world nation to the outside world. (According to micronational scholars, the term micronation is synonymous with the term "Fifth and Sixth world nation").
Etymology
The name "United States of the Rocky Mountains" has two different parts. The first term, “United States” implies the form of government, as well as adopted from the macronation it is located in. “The Rocky Mountains” comes from the region it is located in (western US, Rocky Mountains).

Election History:
- 1 January 2021. This was not really an election. The USRM did not have enough citizens to have a complete government, so senators were appointed by the Supreme President. The senators were Griffin Montbridge and Kyler Maddock.
- 26 June 2021. The election was held for 3 days while votes were still being sent in. The senators elected were Tony N. and Ross C. They served until December 26, 2021.
- 1 January 2021. Convocationists were appointed by the Supreme President. They were Macy Knapp, Paige Isakson, and Van Mendenhall.
- On Jul. 5, 2021, an election was held for the Hall of Debate. The Convocationists elected were Van Mendenhall, Joshua Preisler, Paige Isakson and Kyler Maddock.
- The Hall of Debate was dissolved in February 2022
- The first presidential election took place in 2021. The largest political party, the Federalists, put forth the current President as their candidate. The Second largest political party, the Independents, put forth Landon Jacobs. President C won reelection.
- After the Federation was formed, President C gave up the reins of the USRM to his vice president, President Preisler.
- He retook the Presidency after the EFW was dissolved
- He became Chancellor after not running for re-election. President Jacobs was elected.
Geography
The United States of the Rocky Mountains is situated in the Great Basin, the largest arid region in North America. The terrain consists of rocky, dry, or sandy soil, as well as certain creeks and ponds within the nation.
Orientalis
Orientalis, also known as the California Channel Islands, or Mexico's Lost Archipelago, was claimed by the USRM on 10 December 2020. Since it technically belongs to no country, they took it upon themselves to take care of it. It was not described in the treaty of Guadalupe, nor was it used by Mexico until further inspection of the treaty of Guadalupe ensued.
Government Structure
Government of the USRM
The Government of the USRM is a constitutional Republic, much like the United States of America. All citizens may attend any government meetings, but not all citizens have permission to vote in legislative proceedings.
The Executive branch consists of the President, currently President Preisler, and his Cabinet, as well as all governmental organizations. He oversees all branches of the government, apart from the Supreme Court. He oversees the national treasury and all governmental organizations, able to remove any government officer/employee at his discretion.
The Fiducian branch is composed of the Senate, an advisory body to the President.
The Senate is the highest judicial and legislative body of the USRM, who takes all cases pertaining to constitutional law within the USRM, as well as all legislation.
Inferior courts are divided into three categories:
- Civil
- Criminal
- Appeals
Civil courts take all cases not involving criminality or illegal activities (such as lawsuits). It has only been used once, when the King of Fellovia sued the Military Leader of the USRM, claiming “professional misconduct”. Charges were dropped, and the Military leader brought the case to a presidential trial, the only time a presidential trial has taken place.
Criminal courts within the USRM have never been used, as the code of law of the USRM was abolished when it entered the Imperial Age, however a code of law is currently being written.
Appeals courts have also never been used for the same reason.
The President acts as head justice, the leader of the Fiducian Branch. They have the power to finish rulings of the Senate, take on Presidential Trials, etc.
Government of Alveara
The government of Alveara has not been set up yet, but current reports state it as a constitutional monarchy. The Constitution is currently being written
Government of Little Creek Republic
The government of Little Creek is currently a republic, yet there are two citizens, so there is only the President and his VP.
Nobility and Chivalry
European nobility is not granted within the USRM, due to a clause in Article III of the Constitution, however “Neo-Nobility” (a purely mountaineer concept) is granted at the consent of the President of the USRM.
Titles are purely ceremonial, and include, but aren't limited to:
- Praetor
- Triumvir (granted in groups of threes)
- Rex
- Magnus
Titles are granted permanently and are only revoked in extreme cases/circumstances (such as treason).

Current government departments include, but are not limited to:

Department of Agriculture
The Department of Agriculture was created in an attempt to allow for inter-micronational trade. It is overseen by the President. Current crops grown include:
- Potatoes
- Corn
- Beans
It also regulates agricultural and farming activities within the USRM, such as gardens.
Department of Justice
The Department of Justice is run by the Senate, and is overseen by the Senate. All judges are appointed by the President and approved by the Senate..
Department of Military Operations
The Department of military operations is ran by the Chief Commander of the Military, the Presidents' brother. There have only been two operations in USRM history, a training exercise taking two new naval ships out and the conquering of the LCR.
Foreign Policy
The USRM's current foreign policy is known as “Aggressive Diplomacy”, similar to China's “Wolf Warrior” diplomacy. The United States of the Rocky Mountains always welcomes new diplomatic relationships, especially with developing micronations. We like to help as much as we can! Recognized States and Nations
The USRM currently recognizes all Grand Unified Micronational, League of Independent Nations, UMDO, and Nansen Commonwealth nations. This allows for steady diplomacy and contact between the EFW and the rest of the Micronational Community, as well as helping it become better!

The USRM refuses to recognize any micronation including "Sertor Valentinus" due to slander on the Former President/Current Chancellor
It has also twinned its capitol with that of Salanda.
Economy
The USRM economy has four main areas, these being:
- Agriculture
- Recycling
- Registered Businesses
The economy is 90% agrarian, with animals such as chickens, rabbits, and quail, as well as multiple crops, such as potatoes and wheat. Current estimates of the money made off of these products go as low as 100 US dollars and as high as 1000 US dollars.
The USRM also uses recycling cans and bottles, micronational trade, and registered businesses (although there is currently only one) to contribute to the economy.
