Vishwamitran of the Month, commonly abbreviated VotM, is a monthly award that features and honours a citizen of Vishwamitra whom, the voters (citizens of Vishwamitra) deem the most influential of that month. It has been conferred since August 2021 and the first recipient of the award was Ștefan Marius Snagoveanu who was named as the "Vishwamitran of the Month" for August 2021.

Background

Highly inspired by the Dime Micronationalist of the Month and the Time Person of the Year, the monthly award of the "Vishwamitran of the Month" was launched by the Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya on 25 August 2021 with the award being conferred monthly since then.

Nominations and voting process

Nominations for the Vishwamitran of the Month begin in the last week of every month when citizens of Vishwamitra can nominate one among themselves for the award. Nominations are strictly anonymous and every nominator needs to provide a reasoning behind their nominee. The individual with most nominations receive the award for the month. It is to note that the awarder Varuna Sriraya has sought that citizens do not nominate him as he deems that the award should be restricted for the ordinary citizens of the nation.
